Be Mine

Just wanted to post my entry for Papertake Weekly's sketch challenge. Really loved this sketch, I just had to turn it upside down to work for me :)

I started by cutting out the largest circle of the small circle nesties set (I hope that's not confusing) and then stamping the image (Stampavie, Penny Johnson, Love Bubbles) in jet black archival ink (Ranger). I stamped just the ponytail  a second time on a piece of white scrap.

I colored the image, and the extra ponytail, with my H20 pen  (zig) and distress inks. I used black soot, brushed corduroy, wild honey, worn lipstick, spun sugar, tumbled glass, rusty hinge, and peeled paint. Once that was dry I added glossy accents to the straws and glass. I also added stardust stickles the the outside hearts.

I used the nesties scalloped circle die to cut the mat. I then colored it with tumbled glass and adhered the two pieces together.

All the patterned paper is from American Crafts Everyday collection (love love love) I cut my card base in black for a 5 x5 card. The orange is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4. Pink polka dots are 2 x 3 1/2. Lastly the multi polka dots are 2 x 4 1/2. I rounded all the corners and rubbed black soot on all the edges. I adhered all the paper flat to the card base.

I adhered my colored piece with foam. Once it was on, I threaded several buttons (oriental trading) and adhered them with glue dots. I topped the buttons off with a little thread bow.

The sentiment (Hampton Art, Hugs and Kisses) was stamped with jet black on some scrap piece, cut into a little banner shape, inked, and adhered with foam.

Thanks for coming to visit, I'm hoping to share more later!!
