Hugs and Kisses

Here we are back to posting in the wee morning hours. I didn't have time to share this card before work so here I am at 3 am :) I hope the rest of you are dreaming sweet dreams as I type this . . .

The sketch I used is from Card Positioning Systems   it's really a lovely idea to start with
and the inspiration photo from Cupcake Inspirations is delightful
add the two together and Ta Da
What sparked the start of this card was those delicious little sprinkles just on the edges of the hearts. I loved the way they looked and wanted to recreate it. So after looking through my stash . . . .glitter  . .no . . .dew drops . . .too big . . . beads . . perfect :) I finally found what is was looking for.

I die cut the hearts using my Cricut (George and Basic Shapes) and then colored them with Worn lipstick. I wanted the color to be a gradual change so I used varying layers of color. I outlined them with Glossy Accents, covered the entire piece with beads (Create a Craft Seed Beads, Satin Multicolor) and pushed them into the glue. After I let them set for a minute I dumped off the excess and pushed in any over hanging ones. I then covered all the beads in another coat of Glossy Accents and let them dry overnight.  I also added a half moon of stardust stickles on the top right to mimic the sprinkles in the photo.

I used two scraps (Prima, Breathe Collection) I had left over from my song bird card. I adhered the blue one flat to my white card base, the pink scrap I punched (EK Success) and cut down to a small strip.

For the sentiment I cut a 1 x 3 piece of white and rounded two of the corners. I stamped my sentiment (Hampton Art, Hugs and Kisses) in black. I wanted them to look like stickers so I covered them in Glossy Accents. I also added more stardust stickles to the inside of the heart. Once dry I adhered it to my card and then adhered my pink strip over it.

I threaded the buttons (Oriental Trading) with white and added them with glue dots.

I still felt like the card needed something so I drew a black border with my gel pen and a ruler.

At last I adhered my sprinkled hearts with foam.

and tomorrow maybe I'll get cupcakes :)
