Red White and Blue Inspiration

Morning ;)

Well this storm is as bad as they said . . .ugh I am so hoping they can clean it up before I have to go to work tonight.

I made this card for two challenges. The first is Wee Memories Inspiration challenge. We are supposed to make a card using what inspires us. I am constantly inspired by all of you fellow crafters. I love to browse galleries and blogs to see how different people put different things together. One blogger in particular inspired this card  . . . .  Mailes Belles. I love her clean and simple style. That girl is wicked talented!!

The second challenge is where the colors came from Sweet Stampin's red, white, and blue challenge.

I cut strips of red, white, and blue to 3/4 x 12in. I scored every 1/4, folded it up and made the rosettes. I added the buttons on top with glue dots.

I punched the scallop (EK Success) piece and adhered it flat. I added the ribbon over top tied a second piece in a knot. In real life the ribbon matches the blue rosette perfectly. I think it looks lighter because of the satin sheen. Oh well.

I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings) in Punch ink (Hero Arts).

I still felt like it needed something so I added the little heart rhinestones.

I have another idea for a card so I maybe back later tonight . . . .we'll see how it pans out :)

Thanks for visiting!!

  1. WOW, Kelly!!! I am so loving this card for it's clean and simple appeal. It could go either direction, classy & elegant or cheery & playful. I may scraplift this idea, if that is alright with you. Thank you for shariing it and I hope your other idea turns out so that you can share it also. Good luck in both challenges.
