Sparks at Valentines :)

It is snowy and icy here in Ohio, YUCK!! So thankful I didn't have to work today or tomorrow!! Instead I played in my craft room, which always makes me happy.

The colors were chosen for The Play Date Cafe challenge
and the sketch is from the first Penny Black Blog Challenge
so excited to see what challenges they come up with :)
The stamp I used is called Sparks at Christmas (Penny Black) but I really think this cutie is so much more than Christmas.

I started by stamping her in jet black archival ink (Ranger) and coloring her in with markers. Next added a bit of a shadow with a very light grey marker. To make her shine I added liquid pearls in Lavender Lace to the sparkle details and stardust stickles to really give her some bling. Unfortunately it doesn't photograph well.

I cut out the image using nesties Labels 8. The sparkly part of the image I just cut out and glued back to it's original place. I inked around the panel with black soot and matted on black.

I cut the card base in white and added the polka piece (paper pizzaz) which is just a 1/4 smaller.

I used my scallop punch (EK Success) to create the ruffles at the bottom. I glued just the very tops so the ruffle wouldn't be completely flat. Adhere the image panel with foam.

Add some ribbon and a cute bow, done!!

Wishing you sunshine where ever you are!!!
