Head in the Clouds with Moxie Fab

I'm just popping in with a quick card before I'm off to work. Today's card is inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo

I immediately thought of this sentiment when I saw the photo :) I wanted a head in the clouds type feel to go with it. the sentiment, cloud, and kite are all from Hero Arts Right at Home set. This is one of their super cute Operation Write Home sets. (I have all three <3)

I stamped the clouds and kites on a scrap piece of white. I wanted to try Shari Carroll's velveteen stamping technique so I stamped the wood grain (Hero Arts, Artistic Window) in white on top of the cloud. In Shari's video she used solid flowers to bring out the white stamping. I figured since that worked actually rubbing the inkpad to the paper and dabbing it would work too . . .and it did! I rubbed tumbled glass onto the clouds and then dabbed away to show the woodgrain. The kites were also stamped with white using the cling dots background stamp (Hero Arts) and colored with crushed olive, barn door, and mustard seed.

I adhered the clouds flat before stamping the kites with tails. I moved the tails around on the block before stamping so they didn't all look the same. I trimmed out the colored kites and added them with foam before giving them a healthy dose of glossy accents.
