This week's colors over at The Play Date Cafe are all about the metallic. I knew I probably wouldn't *LOVE* my card no matter what I did, they call it a "challenge" for a reason. However, I got to stamp on aluminum foil so, there's that :)
extra anxiety* they threw nude into the mix when you know I love me some stark white . . .I trudged on . . .
First I should say that I own ZERO metallic paper. It's just not something I keep in my stash. So I covered white card stock with aluminum foil to create my silver hear. After I die cut it into a heart I embossed it with swiss dots. I adhered the heart to my nude panel then die cut the smaller hearts.
I covered a strip of white in versamark ink then coated the entire thing in gold embossing powder. Once it had cooled I adhered it to my card base and the nude panel went on top.
The sentiment originally says "made" with love, so I did some masking to leave off the made. I also stamped in archival ink so it would actually show on the foil.
Here is a close up to show how shiny that gold *actually* is!
I know the colors aren't my usually deal and I think I like it as well as I can like a card with no bright colors lol. I am glad I tried it though because trying new things helps you grow, plus I already have an idea to use that foil in a way that is more my style :)
Thanks for stopping in!

stunning card... i love it!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't enthused with this challenge either, and didn't even try.....after seeing your card I wish now I had. Great job, the silver and gold really show up nicely, even on that nude :)) Was it difficult to stamp on the foil? Seems like it would slide around and not dry?
