Sweet Strawberries

Hey there.

This week's challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog is Let's get Fruity. I love to create bright summery cards so fruit fits right in!

I started by trimming my pattern paper then stamping the border in Green Hills shadow ink. I stamped my strawberries on the pattern paper panel before adding some twine. I knew I was going to fussy cut the strawberries (duh! I fussy cut everything, it's a disease!!) but I wanted the stems to show. Stamping on the paper and adhering your cut out piece on top is an easy way to preserve those more delicate parts of your stamp.

I stamped the strawberry twice on white paper, colored with copics and trimmed them out. I adhered the first strawberry with one layer of dimensional adhesive. To add some more dimension I added the second strawberry with two layers of dimensional adhesive. I wanted the "sweeter" to pop on the card so I traced around it with the lightest copic color I used to color the strawberries. Once I trimmed the sentiment into a banner I added it with even more dimensional adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by my "sweet" friends! hehehehe

  3. Wonderful stamped border. I thought it was washi tape. Those strawberries look like they were dipped in sugar, and I love where they are stamped on your card. Great idea to highlight the word, "sweeter". I'll have to remember that!
