Hello crafters!
So the KISS/Motley Crue concert was a super good time! We had beautiful weather and both bands put on a phenomenal show :)
Here is a little snapshot of all of us at the concert. Good times!
Onto crafty things! Today's card is for CAS-ual Fridays embossing challenge. You had the choice between wet or dry embossing. I decided to go with wet so I could do a resist technique, LOVE!
I started by cutting my panel and stamping the roses in spun sugar. I chose a light colored ink that would easily be covered up with my darker colors. I also "pre-stamped" so I could see where to lay down the pink and green ink. I masked and inked until the whole panel was covered with picked raspberry and mowed lawn distress ink in all the appropriate places. I then stamped the roses in versamark and clear embossed. Once the roses were heat set I covered the panel in black soot distress ink. I totally love the way this looks :) Completely worth the time put in and all the pre-planning I had to do!
I wanted my panel to be the star of the show so I just added two pink strips on either side and some pretty green twine to bring attention to my banner sentiment. Of course I had to some stickles somewhere so I added them to just the flower edges.
Thanks for visiting today! Hope you have time to get inky today :)

Glad you had fun at the concert. Confession, yet again, I've never been to one. For real real. Lame, I know! I'm not really into music enough to go and loud events hit my ears, like to my core.
ReplyDeleteI love when you do this technique, and I always want to try it. Beautiful card! Have a great weekend!
love the resist technique you used! That black really makes the flowers pop! I wish I could get inky today, but I'm sick :( so I don't know if I'll be able too.
ReplyDeleteAnother striking stunner! WOW... worth every second! (I am going to email you about this card...:)) So glad you had a blast at the concert! We are "concert people", too. :) Saw Kiss with Aeorsmith at Cricket Pavillion in AZ a while back. Even though it's an outdoor arena, we had box seats, and with the giant catwalk they built off of the stage, we could almost touch Steven Tyler. :) I'm not much of a Kiss fan (hubby is), but I will admit their show was amazing as well. I still have my concert T-shirt... maybe I will take a pic in it someday. LOL ;)
ReplyDeleteHi gorgeous! Hope you're enjoying your weekend! Just stopping by to say I nominated you for a Liebster award! http://scrapsbymel.blogspot.com/2012/09/exciting-news.html
ReplyDeleteIt was worth the effort indeed. Going to put black soot distress ink onmy wish list
