Hi guys!
So first let me apologize for being more than a little absent in blogland lately. Between work, my sister's wedding, and some other personal things I'm exhausted. I know you guys understand because, well, you have lives too :)
I hoping after the wedding this weekend things will get a little more normal for me. Anyway I did find a little craft time this week and I'm here to share those cards with you tonight. They are both for Hero Arts monthly contest.
First up: Fall Feast - All things Fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving
I started by stamping Hero Arts Leaf and Floral background in versamark. After I heat set it in white I used distress inks as a resist. The inks I used are: mustard seed, fired brick, peeled paint, and vintage photo. Once the ink was down I stamped the leaf from Season of Giving in jet back archival ink. That archival part is important because anything else would not stamp on top of the embossing. After the ink was dry I fussy cut them out and adhered just the center to my card base. I love the fallen "wind blown" look they have.
Next: A Stamp for All Seasons Using stamps for holidays to create something else.
I used the same leaf stamp as above I just used it to create a snowflake. I used resist again just a little differently. I stamped the leaves in versamark first and heat set them. Once I had them trimmed out I stamped each one with the Magical Background and heat set them in white again. I inked them up with broken china, shaded lilac, and dusty concord.I arranged them to create my snowflake then added a threaded button to the center. The sentiment is obviously holiday related and is from Decorate Your Holidays.
Same stamp, two completely different looks :) Oh how I love to stretch my stamps!
Thanks for stopping by tonight and for hanging in there with me.
I really appreciate both XoXo

just GORGEOUS!! WOW> what fabulous ideas! very inspiring :)

ReplyDeleteHello again!
ReplyDeleteLOVELY autumn and Christmas cards....from the same stamp.
Kelly -- Is this a Hero Hues Card base....I LOVE the color!
ReplyDeletePS: It's great to have you back! My Son was also married, jsut last weekend, so I too, have not been online or had much time to create. We have so much fun, but boy was I ever busy, getting ready and doing things for them. The bittersweet part is that they will be relocating from our home town, (Massachusetts) to San Diego and will only be here a few more weeks. I love them both so much and know it's going to be sooooo hard to see them go. I am thrilled for them, but they have always lived here, so this will be a big change. On the upside...I will look forward to going out to visit them and it will be the perfect place to visit, once we get the yukky cold New England Weather that I dread! I hope they are very happy and settled soon. They are leaving on the 13th/14th and will drive across country as their honeymoon trip, making several stops along the way to do and see places they have always wanted to go. They plan to make it a three week trip and will settle into their new apart/condo in early November! I know they'll love it, but this Mom is going to miss them..!
