Hello again crafters!
This is the final week of our birthday celebration at A Blog Named Hero. I can't believe how fast the month flew by! So many wonderful projects I can't wait for the chance to try some of the ideas the girls have given me :) This week we are pairing up with our fabulous (and generous) sponsor
Simon Says Stamp!
They are such a darling company to work with and for this collaboration we got to play with some Simon exclusives.
My card was inspired by Linda Trace's sunshine card from this post and Jennifer McGuire's flower card here.
I loved Linda's "rays" from the top corner and all that bling, gorgeous! On Jennifer's card I really liked how the flowers radiated out from her sentiment. Here is what I came up with
I started by stamping Hero Art's Starburst in Scattered Straw distress ink. Distress inks usually stamp pretty splotchy. In order to remedy that problem I always coat my stamp with Versamark first then my distress ink. It always gives me better coverage. I stamped the Starburst a second time to use as a mask.
Once I masked all the white rays I used the flowers from Simon's Flower friend to create my flower rays :) I stamped darkest to lightest to achieve an Ombre effect. From the center out I used Orange Soda, Soft Apricot, Poppy, and Butter Bar (All Hero Arts). Foe the center of my sun I used the large solid circle from Hero Art's Circles set in Orange Soda.
The sentiment was stamped in Neon Purple ink and trimmed into a banner. I have the banner dies from Simon Says that matches this stamp but it was just a bit too long to fit the card. I popped the sun up on dimensional adhesive and outlined it with stardust stickles. To bring in Linda's "bling" I used little rhinestones.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to head over to A Blog Named Hero to see all the other amazing projects the girls have to show you :)

Kelly you`ve made such a sweet and happy card. Love it!
