Hello my crafty friends!
I realize it has been a few weeks since I posted but I wanted to post with an update.
If you follow me you know that my precious little peanut was due June 1st. On May 15th I was put on modified bedrest because my blood pressure was so high. Over the course of the week I was sent for 3 non-stress tests and every time I laid down my blood pressure evened out and they would send me home.
Finally they decided to go ahead and induce labor because even when I laid down my blood pressure was high for me. They sent us in to be induced on the evening of May 21st. Then, the doctor on call wouldn't induce me until 6:00am on May 22nd. After a long night in the hospital it turned out that I didn't even need to be induced, my water broke at 5:00am.
So after 13hours of labor (3 of it was pushing) and a vacuum assist my darling son was born.
Nathaniel Craig (Nathan) was born on May 22 at 5:55 pm weighing in at 8 lbs 4 ozs. He was exactly 21 inches long.
Since we have come home we discovered that he has a milk allergy. This lovely allergy made our first week hell but since we switched to soy he seems to have evened out quite a bit.
Obviously with the start of our new family there are quite a few things (okay, just one adorable thing) taking my time away from crafting. :) I'll be on "maternity leave" from ABNH through August. Hopefully, I'll be able to pop in from time to time to blog surf at least! In the meantime my days will be filled with this
and I'm so grateful to God for such a wonderful blessing. Enjoy your summer crafters! I hope you do all the things that make your heart happy xoxo

So good to hear from you, Kelly! Big congrats to you and your family! Nathan is adorable and oh, so sweet! I'm glad you were able to find a fairly quick solution to the milk allergy. Must have been a bit scary for awhile. Enjoy your new bundle of joy! Sending hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely boy! I remember bring home my son almost exactly 14 years ago - wow, the time flies! Congratulations, and THANK YOU for creating space for me (for a little while, anyway) on the DT at ABNH. Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited and happy to learn about your little son over at the Hero Arts Group. I guess I must be behind in life (what's new), becuase I had no idea your were expecting, which made the wonderful news even more fun!!
ReplyDeleteAs the Mom of two boys myself, they are the greatest joys of my LIFE and I love them both with all my heart. Boys, I've found always stays close to their Mom's and as much as mine are all grown up (21 and 26), they are forever my boys and I will always cherish them. My oldest is now married and he and my wonderful new daughter, (Meghan) moved to San Diego shortly after they were married for career advances. I miss them so much and even though I have been out to see them once, I wish I could go even more. It's really hard to ever let go and when they move all the way across the country, it's hard when you cant' see them as much as you want. Thankfully, my younger son is still here and home and also works locally. I hope when it's time to for him move out (he's saving for a house)...so it could be awhile -- that he'll stay closer to home or move out near his borther...than I'll pack up and go too!
I loved San Diego and would love to live there...maybe in time I will...long story short....enjoy every moment...the years fly by and then you have to let me go....which is very bittersweet!!
Hugs,
Lisa
Enjoy your time full of cuddles, kisses, smiles, and lots of other messy stuff :)
