My first ever Monday Mood Board!

 Hey, hey Crafters!

How is your week going? Mine has been wonderful (minus Monday) and let me tell you why :)

Monday my Mom had some health concerns and had to go to the ER. Thankfully, after several tests it looks like she may just need some medication to fix the problem. Thank God for answering prayers. 

The next reason this week was awesome is because I was tweeted by Hero Arts and Lawn Fawn in the same day! WHAT?! I know it's crazy and awesome and wonderful and I'm so grateful for the encouragement. A crafty friend of mine, the super fantastically talented Miss. Wida, recently asked on her facebook "Why do you blog and what do you hope to get out of it?" This. I hope to get this out of it. The loving community, fun crafting, and unbelievable encouragement. Again, God is good :)

Okay enough mushy mush. On to the card!

Today I am playing along with my first ever Monday Mood Board over at WPlus9. In case you were wondering yes I was in fact buying and hoarding craft supplies the ENTIRE time I was out on maternity leave. I did not have to craft but you bet your sweet patootie I had time to buy :) One of the things I was busy buying was my first WPlus9 stamps and I love them!

Here is the Mood Board

Since I don't have anything Nautical (YET!) I decided to stick with the colors and the layout. 

Okay I really hope you love it because I do! I love it and it has kraft, Christmas September (?!) miracle! 

I started by stamping the quilt stamp from Quilt Prints onto a white card panel. I stamped them again  and trimmed them out. I used salty ocean, faded jeans, and chipped sapphire to color the  . . . .I guess they're petals? Anyway, I adhered them down to my white card panel. 

I stamped the rose and frame from Hope Seed Co. and trimmed them out. The rose was stamped twice so I could get an extra set of leaves. The rose was colored with festive berries, fired brick, and aged mahogany.  For the leaves I used crushed olive, peeled paint, and forest moss. I trimmed a thin piece of white card stock for my stem. After I colored it with the distress inks I used a black marker on the edge. 

I stamp the sentiment, which is from the Quite Like You set, on a kraft banner. I added a little red rhinestone as an accent to the sentiment. The frame, flower, and banner were all added to the card base with dimensional adhesive.

I'll be sending this to a very special crafty friend who is super encouraging. I hope she knows how much I appreciate her sweet (and sour) ness <3
