Newton's Nook Color Challenge

 Hey there Crafters.

Another late night post for me. The deadline for Newton's Nook color challenge is midnight tonight so I'm squeezing in. I loved their entire release this last go round but these roses from Love Grows were a must have. I realize I have a flower addiction and no I don't want help for it :)

These are the colors. I love bright colors so sometimes I forget pastels are pretty too :) Here is what I came up with.

I stamped all my images and fussy cut them out before coloring them with distress ink. Quick rundown: Pink is worn lipstick and spun sugar. Yellow was done with mustard seed and squeezed lemonade. Purple is shaded lilac and just a touch of dusty concord. The leaves came last and they were colored with shabby shutters and mowed lawn.

The circle and side panel were colored with a light gray copic. I stamped the little heart from the set in soft graphite from Hero Arts to make the design. I found it easier to cut everything out and then temporarily adhere it to scrap paper before stamping the hearts. This way I knew the design would line up across the entire panel.

I glittered the edge of the rose petals and stamped my sentiment to complete.

Even though it's different for me I'm still pretty happy with my pastels :) Thanks for coming over to have a look!

XoXo
