Hello, Hello Crafters!
How are you all doing tonight? I hope you're work week started off wonderful. I was lucky enough to be off today to enjoy my beautiful little boy. Added bonus my Momma invited us over for dinner. Momma's food + no cooking + family night = AWESOME!
I'm playing along with Keep it Simple and A Blog Named Hero this evening. Their challenges coincided with each other and that totally worked for me, even though it required me to make something other than a card. I get so stuck "in the box" sometimes it's nice when something forces you to break out!
I'm sure you have figured out by now I made a bookmark.
To get the shape I used a spellbinders die and partially die cut my paper. Basically it just notched the edges. I punched a hole at the top and used a circle from an old border punch to create the reinforcer.
I stamped the butterfly then masked it. I proceeded to stamp and mask my flowers and leaves. I actually think those "leaves" are supposed to be wings you can build your own butterfly with but for this bookmark, they are leaves :)
Once everything was stamped I masked all my images and rubbed some salty ocean on it to color my background. Everything else was colored with copics. I was channeling my inner Kathy Racoosin with all that copic coloring so I added some white dots too. Mine isn't nearly what hers is but I love it nonetheless!
No project can be complete without stickles so I added those to the flower centers.
Copics do bleed through the paper so I covered the back, adding in some scripture to remind me all beautiful things come from the Lord <3
I used Hero Arts Butterfly and Flower to create this baby. If you don't have it you can get it here and save 15% with the coupon code KELLYL15. ;)
Thanks for dropping in! I hope you have a wonderful week!
XoXo
