TIME OUT: Casing Donna

  Hello Crafters!

This weekend has been crazy! I finally did my 5K! Thanks to my sisters :) I also had a wedding and worked 21 hours! Like I said crazy.

I'm popping in to play along with the Time Out challenge to CASE Donna Mikasa.  Donna is name that has been around for a while in craftland and I have always admired her talent.
Here is her card

I loved the hexagons and bright colors with the pops of gold. Such a gorgeous card!

Here is my take

I cut some hexagons from My Favorite Things. I temporarily adhered them to a piece of scrap paper and stamped Hero Arts/Basic Gray's True Love Wood Background with Versamark. I heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. For the bold background colors I rubbed on some distress ink. I used mustard seed, ripe persimmon, and picked raspberry.

I used the You stamp set and matching die from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment which were also heat embossed in gold. For the die cut I just pressed it directly to the Versamark ink pad then covered it in gold.

Here is a close up of the sentiment. I love how shiny the gold is it just photographs crappy. :(

Thanks for stopping in :)
