Hello crafters!
If you are friends with me on Facebook you know that yesterday I was so blessed to meet and craft with some friends I've made in blog land. I, of course, made everyone take photos :)
From left to right Me, the wonderful Katie Gehring, the amazing Wida Miller, the exceptional Lin Brandyberry, the fabulous Kirsty McIntyre, and the awesome Tammy Hershberger.
hehe. Silly :)
I've linked all their blogs.I hope you stop by and visit them. They are all so talented. We all have different styles but each is so wonderful in their own way.
If you've never been to a fun crafty get together I highly recommend you go. Just don't plan on accomplishing much :) I made one card. I was there from 11:00am until 4:00pm. ONE card! However I love it, I mean really love it. :)
Let me tell you how this card came to be.
I went to the crop and I sat there and sat there . . . .and sat there. I mean I chatted but no ideas would come my way. Zero. Nada. Zilch.
Then the amazing Wida started taking about how she got started. She was a challenge addict. Hmmm Challenges . . .I use my new fangled phone to peruse my favorite challenges. I love the current sketch at Cas(e) This Sketch. Alright we have a starting point.
Then the exceptional Lin and I start talking about how it's sad stamp companies aren't really making outline stamps anymore. I mean, what will we color?!. She says I had to use this Hero Arts Flutterbies printable just to have something to color. I love that butterfly. That stamp set is a classic. I dig out Hero Arts Antique Engravings and ink up my long lost butterfly friend.
After I'm done stamping, trimming, and coloring my butterflies with distress ink. I know they need something. I'm thinking some fun white gel pen detail. Except I can't find mine. Insert the fabulous Kirsty to save the day.
I lay out all my butterflies and adhere them to my card. I need to add my sentiment. I don't want to do another banner. I ALWAYS do banners. The wonderful Katie tells me she has seen these recessed sentiments that look super cool but . . .I'll have to cut my butterflies. What the heck. I trust her. Have you seen her cards?! No need for worrying because I love it.
Are you ready to see this card that is so me but is now so many other fantastic people too?
I think I'll keep it forever :)
The sentiment is from Hero Arts set You're A Rainbow and it fit perfectly. If you are interested in any of these products they are all in stock in the A2ZScrapbooking store. Feel free to use the code KELLYL15 to get 15% off. They have the new Hero Arts too *wink wink*
Thanks for dropping by!
XoXo
