You Are Incredible

 Hello Crafters!

We're half way through the week! Whoo hoo!

So I took the civil service test. There was no math. Thank the Lord! However, the rest of it was a little more difficult than I anticipated. Not rocket science or anything but not like any other civil service test I've taken either.

Interested in what I mean?  Well, let me fill you in. What kind of friend would I be if I didn't share right?

First up definitions.

The word to define is confiscate:
A. Steal
B. Give
C. Appropriate
D. Leave.

The answer is C. But it's kind of tricky because the definition for Appropriate is : take (something) for one's own use, typically without the owner's permission.
Kind of sounds like stealing no? One little phrase distinguishes the two. To steal is to: take (another person's property) without permission or legal right and without intending to return it. See that "legal right" part? Yeah, tricky tricky.

Want another?

This is an inference. You must pick the statement that is most true based on the information provided to you.

Dan plays varsity baseball in the spring. Dan plays varsity basketball in the fall. Dan plays varsity football in the winter. Dan is on the honor roll and plans to attend college after graduation.

A. Dan plays on all the teams the school has.
B. Dan plays on all varsity teams.
C. Dan is a good student and a good athlete.
D. Dan likes every sport.

Um . . .what?! I went with C but I could argue for B too. It's up to how you interpret the information. Yes Dan plays on all varsity teams listed but what if Dan plays JV hockey and they failed to mention it? Yes Dan is a good student but is he really a good athlete? What if they let everyone on the varsity teams even if they never play? You know the type of school that gives out participation awards?

Anyway, that was my Monday. It sucked. Let's talk about things that don't suck shall we? Well, at least I hope my card doesn't suck ha!

This time I'm playing along with the current CAS(E) This Sketch. I always love their sketches and this one is no exception. Everyone else must love it too because there are already over 90 entries.

Here's the sketch!

I flipped it again because I can never just do what I'm told ;)

Kelly Latevola You and Your Big Dreams

I used Altenew's Persian Motifs for the gorgeous flower and the sentiment. I love how intricate these stamps are. Seriously love.

I stamped the flower and trimmed it out. I colored it with distress inks. I love the depth you can get with the shading. I cut a square out of my card panel and then trimmed down the square that was left over to create my frame. Make sense?

I added some black to my card base and then adhered the white panel with dimensional adhesive. The flower was added with more dimensional adhesive. Which is making my top leaf look wonky. grr... Because it's up above the stamped outline it looks like it doesn't match up. I stopped trying to photograph it any differently.

To add the dots in the sketch I used enamel accents. Stardust stickles gave it some shine and I called it done :)

Thanks for dropping in!

XoXo

  1. I love your interpretation of the sketch! I played this past weekend, but I haven't added my dots yet, so it's not finished. I'll probably miss the cut-off now.

And see? NO MATH! But you DO know math because you make cards, so stop making it sound so difficult! :D

  5. You didn't flip it so much as you slid it up, Kelly, and I like it way up there very much! I would like it very much if it were down at the bottom or smack in the middle or flipped around. It's just that AWESOME!! This is another winner for your trophy wall, if you ask me!!

Thanks for the mental challenge, too. I didn't feel so old when I got them right - it's a lot harder thinking at my age!! I did agree with your argument on the second one, however. Are you an attorney, by any chance? If not, do you ever think of becoming one?! Hugs, Darnell
