Hello Crafters!
The first WCMD challenge is up and running over at the A2zScrapbooking blog! This is the first of three challenges today! You could win a $20.00 credit to the store!
This one is based on an inspiration board using Silver, Aqua and White.
Let's start at the top. I loved the diamond pattern. It immediately made me think of Hero Arts and Basicgrey's Tiny Triangles background stamp. I also loved the white outline flowers. You know what that means . . .dun . . . dun . . . dun the Peace Poinsettias return! Last but not least those beautiful silver ornaments were calling to me :)
I started by stamping the Peace Poinsettia onto Watercolor Paper. I then went in with a paintbrush and watercolored with Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I did each individual petal but you could just spray the whole thing down and dab on color. It would still be beautiful. I just wanted concentrated color at the base so I only added it there. I fussy cut it out. Then I remembered why I don't fussy cut watercolor paper. That stuff is thick! Ha!
The background was stamped with Tiny Triangles in Soft Pool Shadow Ink. I dabbed off the ink around the edges to give it the faded out look. My stamp was still carrying some black ink from a previous use. I kept cleaning and stamping trying to get rid of it but then I started to kind of like it . . . or maybe I just told myself that hehe. It added spots of what looked like a soft gray. I went with it :)
I added my white panel onto some Coordinations Caribbean cardstock and added it to my card base. The sentiment is from the same set and was heat set with Hero Art's Silver Embossing Powder. I used the same Silver Embossing Powder. to change the color of my Small Accent Pearls and fill in my center. The flower was added with dimensional adhesive.
Hero Arts is currently holding a "Mad About Metallic" Challenge so I'm throwing this in the mix :)
Don't forget to head over to the A2ZScrapbooking blog to play along. AND if you need an new Hero Art's goodies use the code WCMDSALE for 20% off your purchase of $25.00 or more!
