You're Lovely Water Color

 Hello Crafters!

Good morning! I hope you're enjoying your weekend. It's freaking cold here. I mean, I know it's Ohio but 32?! Come on, it's only the first week on October!
Did you enjoy your World Cardmaking Day yesterday? There is so much crazy goodness out there in blog land. I didn't even make A SINGLE CARD on WCMD! I made plenty of cards for it. This blog was crazy yesterday but none on it. I might try to remedy that next year :)

I'm popping in before church to share a card for two challenges. The first one is for Curtain Call's Inspiration Challenge . I was blessed enough to win a Guest Design spot with them with this card. I can't wait. I'll let you all know when that is going down. You'll probably hear me squeeling with glee from wherever you are! They are being sponsored by Paper Smooches this week. Paper Smooches is currently holding an Anything Goes Challenge so this card is two birds and one stone.

Here is the inspiration photo

Can you say water color? Because I can!! When I think smooch I think love.

Kelly Latevola You and Your Big Dreams

I started by die cutting my spellbinders heart die to create a mask. I rubbed distress ink in picked raspberry, festive berries, and aged mahogany onto  some water color paper. I added some water with a paintbrush and made magic. I never get tired of seeing how water color turns out once it dries!!

After it was dry I stamped the large flower from Paper Smooches Blossoming Buds right over top of it. I had originally intended to do more watercoloring so I stamped in archival ink. It wasn't working out the way I wanted at all so I switched to copics to get bold color. Unfortunately, archival ink and copics are not friends. They are the Hatfields and McCoys of ink and markers. :/
I was extremely careful adding my ink. I more "patted" it into place then "swiped" so I have very little shading. I think the variation going on in the watercolor creates enough interest that the lack of shading is okay.

I outlined the image in gray but it still needed something. Right now when I need that special something I'm reaching for my white gel pen. I think it worked out pretty well! I love the  monochromatic look the card has. I did add hints of glitter on some of the flowers too.

The sentiment fit my "love' feel perfectly. It's from the same Paper Smooches set. Now that it's all done let me tell you something you probably won't believe. I hate red. haha! Seriously, I own no red clothes. No red anything. Yick. Okay, I guess not no red anything because this card is mine ;)

Have a blessed day!

Thanks for visiting!!

XoXo

The way you did that heart is amazing and even though there is only one color featured here - this card still does your characteristic Explode with Color!! I am so amazed by you and adore your passion for color and creating - that is also why I started following you!! Thanks for being an inspiration!!
