Hello Crafters!
Today is my Saturday! Thank the Lord and Hallelujah!!
When you're coming off a ten day stretch of nothing but 6:00pm to 2am shifts those days off are so much sweeter. I'm still adjusting to this new "move you all over" schedule at the new job which has left substantially less time for blog surfing and crafting. Real life, you are so uncool.
I did find time to create a card for a special friend of mine. I recently was blessed enough to meet Ms. Jana Millen at a stamp retreat. She is the sweetest, most wonderful person. Truly. I wanted her to know that she was in my thoughts. She had made an impression.
I don't think it's a state secret but in case I'm doing a poor job of living it I'll tell you, I'm a Christian. I realize not everyone is. That's okay I love you anyway ;) I'm not going to get on a soapbox here but this is my blog and this is me so we're going to touch on it for one second.
I just wanted Jana to know that from one Christian woman to another she touched my heart with her faith, with how she lives her life, and I am grateful to know her.
Here is the card I made for her.
I stamped the flower and petals from Altenew's Magnolias for Her on some water color paper. I might add that I colored this before I googled magnolias. Yeah so the shading is wrong. Oops. ;) Ah, oh well, it's pretty anyway.
At first I wanted it to be monochromatic so I colored the leaves gray but I didn't like them so I added some green in. Ahhh. Much better.
I trimmed it out. Dude, watercolor paper is thick. Makes tired hands.
I cut a window out out of a white panel with my paper trimmer. I refuse to buy square dies when I can do it myself. I know it's crafty blaspheme but some products you just don't need. The square die is one of those for me. Now a square die with stitching .. .hmmm.. . I'll have to think about that one ;)
I drew a frame around my window with a pen and a ruler then attached it over some black that I had heat embossed. I used dimensional adhesive for both the panel and the frame panel.
Thanks for stopping by!
XoXo

I just don't know where you get these design ideas, but they are just so clever! I just love this design, as well as I loved that square window with that beautiful rose! Amazing job with the leaves as well, I tried to make leaves from individual pedals after your last Magnolia card.. they just turned out to be something that I couldn't publish... Great card, I am sure your friend will like it!
