Hello Crafters!
I made something. Two things actually.
I'm may throw a small parade complete with floats, confetti, and unicorns. No shit. It calls for unicorns.
Is this the best most awesome supercalifragilisticexpialidocious card I've ever made? Probably not but considering the slump I'm in I'll take it. I'll take anything. Well . . .maybe not anything, but most things. A girl has to have some standards.
When I have free time I do try to create. Most of the time it's fruitless or the fruit is ugly. This time of year is always mojoless (it's a thing. you know it's a thing.) for me combined with my schedule I've just decided to let it come or not. It's okay. I don't have to be an amazing crafter all the time. Right?! Right.
I went perusing challenges and of course it was a sketch challenge. Isn't it always with me? Sketch challenges are like the tall dark handsome men of challenges. This time it's CAS(E) This Sketch. Thank God Chrissy Larson dreamed this sketch up or I might still be in the slump.
and my take
I had recently watched a video by Sandy Allnock where she did a background that was a mail pile with a bunch of different pinks and reds. It's adorable. You can see her video here.
The various pinks and reds were my initial goal when I started stamping and masking the hearts from Hero Arts Sweethearts. Then I was looking at the set and realized in all the different cards I've made with this set I have NEVER used them as candy hearts. Weird huh? That pretty much decided it. I colored them with copics in traditional candy heart colors.
In the sketch the sentiment is "built in" to the design on the side and I embraced that. I used my Simon Says Stamp Love You die and cut it right through my design. I cut about 4 more from white cardstock to create the faux chipboard look. To give it some shine and help it stand out I added clear Wink of Stella to the letters. Add a couple of sequins and praise Jesus I made a card.
I'll share the other one later this week. I don't want to drown you after the drought ;)
Thanks for coming to visit and for hanging in there with me. You guys are awesome!
XoXo
