Hello Crafters!
Two days in one week. I'll wait while you pick yourself up off the ground.
I decided that I'm going to post what I make even if it doesn't come together. Even if it's ugly. Not that I think today's card is ugly. I happen to like it a lot actually. I am just rambling now.
Since ideas are fleeting for me right now and I had time (I had time!!) to peruse some blogs and challenges I took two of the latter and combined them for my card.
First up, the layout. We are thanking CAS(E) This Sketch for that. It's perfect for my style. I loved it from the word go.
Next image and colors . . .by Altenew's Monthly Challenge. Oh flowers, how I love you.
Flowers not your thing? They have two other beautiful photos you can be inspired by. But I have to say if flowers aren't your thing you may be lost. Not that I don't love you but I swear 99.9% of the cards I make are flowers. I have an obsession. It can't be helped.
It also fulfilled my 10 minutes (or much more :) coloring requirement for Kathy's 30 day color challenge. Yay!
Ready? Me too!
From release day I knew I wanted to get my hands on Altenew's Whimsical Flowers. They just looked like such fun to color. Guess what? THEY ARE! Weird huh?
I chose my colors from the inspiration photo. Ironically they are also the same colors I used in Tuesday's card. Not sure how that happened.Meh. Whatevs. It works. I stamped an masked my blooms then drew in some stems. I colored the flowers with copics and added some white highlights with a white colored pencil. A few dots of white gel pen for interest and a healthy coat of clear Wink of Stella finished it off. It's too bad you can't see it in any of the photos. Just picture them shimmery and magical, like the unicorn of glitters.
To create my sketch shape I used a T-ruler and a black gel pen. I used the same black pen to outline all my images. The simple sentiment from Altenew's Sketchy Rose acts as my banners. It's a very "Kelly" card and I'm thrilled to be making again!!
Thanks for dropping by!
XoXo
