Thinking of You: Supplies I Scammed off Others

  Hello Crafters!

I'm back!!!!

I hope your weekend was just as wonderful as mine. I love seeing my crafty friends, both new and old. Such wonderful girls. I'm counting down to the next one!

Besides the laughing, hugs, conversation, and happy hour the best thing about crafty get togethers is scamming other people's supplies. I love trying new stamps or products I've never used before. This card was made almost entirely of other people's goodies.

I've been making eyes at WPlus9's Botanical Bunch ever since it was released. Don't tell my husband. It'll be our little secret.  I'm probably going to have to buy it now. It snuck it's way into my heart like a stealthy ninja stamp.

After I stamped the flowers all over I started coloring. I scammed the colors from another crafter. I'm always up for trying new copic combos and this time I discovered I need YG21 Anise. It's almost neon green and I love it!! Once I was done with my markers I added some shading with my colored pencils. This technique was taught to me by the fabulous Kathy Racoosin. It's a little thing that makes a big difference. I always outline my images in black to help make them pop so I did that. Then, of course, I added a bit of Wink of Stella.

Crafty confession time. I made a boo boo. :/
When I originally stamped the card I had intended for the design to be in the bottom left hand corner. Then I tried to stamp my sentiment . . . .yeah it was not good. I stamped it in black and then tried to do a coral shadow thingamado. Uh. no. Insert plan B. It happens to all of us.

I covered up my hideous sentiment with a strip of black and flipped the card over. I added a little vellum to really break up the top and bottom. Then I just stamped my sentiment in black. By itself. Lesson learned. :)

I made a few other cards while I was away. I'll be sharing soon!

Thanks for dropping by!!

XoXo

  3. Gorgeous. As I've heard a time or two, there are no mistakes in crafting, only opportunities to embellish! :)
