Winged Things

  Hello Crafters!

I have a twofer for you today.

Quite sometime ago Sandy Allnock posted this video featuring some new Hero Arts Stamps. I knew immediately I wanted both of these sets. You've already seen the Baby Animals here. Today I'm using the Butterfly and Flower set Sandy featured in her video.
It's called Butterly and Flower, they might have well as named it "Kelly's Perfect stamp set" :)

I'm playing along with Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge to use "Things that Fly"
and you know I'm all for The Daily Marker's 30 day Challenge to color everyday.

I started by stamping and masking the butterfly from the set. I sketched out the size of my square before I started so I would have even coverage of the butterflies flying out from behind it. Once that was done I started coloring them with my copics. I love how the pastels look against the black! Speaking of black I outlined all the butterflies with my copic multiliner to make them pop. They got a little bit of detail from the white gel pen before I called them done.

I did some in lay die cutting for my sentiment. I cut the Thanks from Hero Arts first so I would have the fluidity of the butterfly design. Next I cut the stitched rectangle from Simon Says Stamp from the butterfly panel. I then cut it again from white. Finally cut your Thanks through the white rectangle and we're ready to piece them all back together again. Once I had everything taped together I fit the square back into the butterfly panel. I did add some shading to the left and bottom of the square to give my one layer card some dimension. Last but certainly not least, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the Thanks die cut.

Since we did all that die cutting you know we had some pieces parts left over . .so . . . .

Twofer!!

I just used the left overs to create this clean and simple card. I popped it up on some dimensional adhesive and coated the whole thing in Wink of Stella. Now I have a pretty but quick and simple Thank you the next time I need it :)

Thanks for visiting!
Happy Monday!!

XoXo

  7. Kelly, I don't understand how we manage to think alike so many times... Stay tuned, I'm posting my card today that I made last week but couldn't post it until today because the dies where released yesterday. You may recognize some similarities. :) Your card is very beautiful! I always love when you use colours of the rainbow. So pretty every time!
