Hello Crafters!
How are you doing?
I hope your Easter was wonderful. Mine was . . .eventful?
First, My Gramcracker ended up going to the hospital because she was having difficulty breathing. She has pneumonia and they gave her a breathing treatment which helped tremendously. Here's hoping she is back home tomorrow. I'd take a few prayers if you can spare them :)
Next, we went to my in-laws for dinner and an Easter Egg hunt. My wonderful Mother-in-law puts it together every year for the kids. Except my kid was not interested at all. Not even a smidge. At least he was happy to be outside. I even scored a couple of pictures.
and the Latevola family surprise face haha
What's life without the outtakes? :)
I adore my silly family. Which includes my silly husband. And that is my segue to my card.
I know I'm smooth. You never saw it coming.
This week is release week over at Create a Smile. After a brief hiatus I'm thrilled to be back with the team and working with this adorable stamps. Christine is releasing two incredible sets, Coffee First and Underwaterlove. The third stamp being released is a background stamp called Wild Waters. I see so many possibilities for that baby but I just had to use Coffee First. After all I can't function without coffee. Or I can, it's just not very nice. It sounds more like growling than speaking.
I used one mug for the card and did some mirror stamping and copic coloring. When I was coloring them I tried to create very masculine and very feminine patterns. If the bold stripe isn't enough I'm pretty sure that super cute stache seals his fate as a boy. not that I haven't seen women with mustaches. But I think they prefer to call them whiskers. . . .anyway . . . for the detail on the girl I drew in a simple flower with my white gel pen. As I told Christine, I plan on giving this to my hubs and I wanted to be a petty cup haha!
The hearts are all included in the set but they are solid images. I just stamped them in light ink, did some shading, and outline them in black. I really wanted to use the big one for my main heart but it's connected to the "I."
Insert masking to save the day. Really, when doesn't masking save the day? I changed up the sentiment a bit by including the "you" and "more than" from the Balance set. I added some Glossy Accents to the coffee and Wink of Stella to the hearts.
All of the sets will be available for purchase on April 10th. Don't forget to check out the Create A Smile blog all week for a ton of inspiration!!
Thanks for stopping in :)
XoXo

Your card is adorable, and so are you and your family! I will pray right now for your grandma...okay, I'm back. Those cups are so cool the way you designed them to be masculine and feminine. Great job mirror stamping, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI love those adorable pics, Kelly and your card is brilliant! ♥
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I am keeping your Grandmother in my prayers, that she will have a complete and speedy recovery. I loved seeing the pictures of you, your hubby and your sweet boy. Thanks for sharing your Easter with us. I am praying for you all. Your card is beautiful (when aren't your cards beautiful?!) and I enjoy seeing what you create. It makes me smile to see a post from you in my in box.
What a delightful family. Your little guy is adorable and your big guy ain't so bad, either. Just sayin'. Your card is super fun, too. Oh goodness, your creativity is boundless. I for sure would never have thought to go ahead and add some pattern with a white gel pen. Well, maybe on a very good day I might have thought to try it, but in no way would it have ever looked as good as yours! Anyway, excellent work, Kelly. It was fun catching a glimpse of your adorable family. :)
ReplyDeleteOoops! Meant to also say, I sure hope your grandmother has a quick and complete recovery. That sure can be scary! I adore your nickname for her! Gramcracker! I suspect you would be SO much fun to hang out with! :)
