Hello Crafters!
Happy Easter!
What a joyful day Easter is.
For those of us Christians it is the day we celebrate the rising of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For those of you who aren't interested in reading a little scripture this morning you can skip to the bottom :)
Matthew 28:2-6 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
What wonderful news indeed. God is good.
I am very interested in reading some scripture this morning because I'm not entirely sure we're going to make it to church in the morning. My poor baby has been sick all week and last night he was miserable. He was just lying there with his little face all crumpled and snot running down his face crying. It was heart breaking. H didn't fall asleep until after 1:00am. So even though it means missing service I hope he sleeps in and gets some rest.
Before we jump to my card, I want to talk about another card. Yesterday I was so touched to see my friend Marika had made me card. It's clean and bright with butterflies and it's completely perfect. Crafty friends really are the best. If you'd like to see it, and believe me you want to, you can visit her blog here.
Card time, yes?
I actually made this card while I was away on my retreat. I used all Create A Smile Stamps. I loved the bunny from Eggstraordinary Egghunt but I really wanted him to have some eggs to hide. He is the Easter bunny after all! I used the eggs from Friends in Woods. Those eggs have cute little dots on them but I wanted to doodle my own egg designs so I did some partial inking with my Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I added some fun designs and trimmed them all out. Now how is our bunny supposed to carry all those eggs without a basket?
He isn't.
After searching through all my stamps I stumbled upon the bathtub in the Comfy set. I trimmed off the spout and the feet and then added some detailing to make it look more like a basket. I held it up to my friend Barb and asked "What is this?" She said "What do you mean, it's a basket." Victory!! I love changing stamps up to suit my needs! It's like being the mad scientist of stamping. Except your stamps aren't dead or creepy. I drew a quick handle and attached it. I quickly added in some grass on my card base, stamped the sentiment and BAM Happy Easter :)
Thanks for visiting!
I hope you have a wonderful Easter!!
XoXo

Oh goodness! First of all, Happy Easter! I truly hope your little one is feeling better once he wakes up. That is so not fun! I also hope he bounces back to his normal self quickly! Second, your card is fantastic. I went and checked out the bathtub stamp to see how it started out and you are quite amazing in the transformation you achieved. Love the mad scientist idea. Yes, indeedy, that you are! The card itself is just perfect for Easter. Adore your CAS style. Thanks for sharing that your friend made you a card, too. I checked it out and it is absolutely gorgeous! You are very lucky! :) Hope you have a lovely holiday, whether or not you make it to church.
