Paper Smooches Easter Bunny

 Hello Crafters!

The weekend is here again!
This time last Saturday I was hanging with my girls and laughing until my tummy hurt. I can't wait for the next one :)

For a minute it seemed like I had left my mojo at the retreat. Then I realized I was trying to use some stamps and techniques that didn't lend itself to my style. Silly girl, stick to what you love.
What do I love? You already know. It's another (pulls out microphone) ONE LAYER CARD, One Layer Card, one layer card, one layer card . . . and the crowd goes wild. Or at least the crowd in my head does. It could be crickets out here. I guess we'll see eh? ;)

Paper Smooches is doing it's Anything Goes challenge this week.

I really wanted to do something Easterish. Easter like? Something to do with Easter. You know what I'm saying. But I don't have any of their Religious sets. I really need to pick some up. Their Religious Sampler set is fabulous.

Anyway, I'm a cheapskate so I work with what I've got. I used an older stamp, so old in fact Kim doesn't even sell it anymore, called Party Pals.

The original stamp has a cute kitty to the left of the bunny but kitties aren't for Easter so I had to mask it off. Sorry kitty, some other day. I left the balloon in because I thought it was super cute but now I'm wondering if it made the card look to much birthday and not enough Easter. What do you think?

I masked some more to add the second balloon. For the jelly beans I used an eye from Spookalicious. Apparently I like using the eyes from this set to make things. I made butterflies with another eye here. So, yeah, eyeballs, that 's my niche. Awesome.

After everything was colored with copics and my detailing was done I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat set it with Colorbox Grape embossing powder. The jelly beans got a dose of glossy accents and I was done.

I have another Easter card to share tomorrow. It has a bathtub in it. Nothing says Easter like bathtubs right? You'll see what I'm talking about :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Holy Saturday!

XoXo

  1. How fun! I'm glad you realized it's almost pointless sometimes to work against your natural inclinations when it comes to crafting. Eases loads of frustration, doesn't it. I'm also impressed at your ability to work with multiple stamp sets to create the look you want. Your Easter card looks terrific! Your coloring is bright and vibrant and makes me want to pluck it right off the page. Excellent work!

  3. At first I thought you'd paper pieced the wabbit, but then I realized it's just more of your mad coloring skillz. Color me impressed. :)

And way to go with the eyes! I'm sure I'll think of a clever tag line just after I hit Submit.
