You Lift Me Up: Wplus9 Party Animal

 Hello Crafters! 

How is everyone today? Good? Good. 

Today we are a bit split up. I'm sharing two cards over at the WPlus9 blog and one here.

Yes, my first post on the blog. 

Can we just let that sink in for a minute?
I was talking to a crafty friend today and told her on Monday when I was looking at the blog I felt like there was a rip in the space time continuum and I was actually living in another universe. 
I still kind of feel like that. In a good way :)

We are going to talk about Party Animal stamps and dies today. 

 

I love everything about this set. The sentiments are perfect. Those giraffes are beyond adorable. and the big balloon. Such a simple thing to bring such happiness. 
Ready to get happy?


Ahh. Happiness. Watercolor and rainbow colors with a smidge of black. In love. 

I heat embossed the large balloon several times on watercolor paper. No need to mask balloons are transparent. Isn't that handy? I used Peerless Watercolors to color all the balloons except for the green. That is Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. In my Peerless Pack they don't have a green I love. 

Where the balloons intersect I used both colors to get a third. So pretty! Watercoloring literally does all the work for you. 

After it was all dry I used a white gel pen to continue my balloon strings.  The white embossing on white was making it really difficult to see the strings so I added a grayish blue halo around the balloons. They still weren't showing up so I went to my go to, the black copic multiliner. The bold black sentiment from the set finished it off perfectly :) 

Now I know you're thinking uh, Kelly. There's . .um . .there's adorable giraffes in this set. Where are the giraffes? WHERE ARE THE GIRAFFES?! 

I would never neglect those angelic little giraffes. What kind of monster do you think I am?

    Love the colorful balloons, you make the watercoloring look so easy. It's lots of grey skies here and rain and more rain. So, I needed to see something colorful and cheerful.

    Are you kidding me? Those giraffe cards are so stinkin' cute. Especially like how you tied the string of that shaker balloon to the tail...brilliant. Speaking of balloons, that card with all those vivid colors knocks me out...love how you excentuated the strings and made those balloons POP! (Oh no, that would be a tragedy.)

    Kelly, I love your rainbows no matter what shape they are. The balloon card is brilliant and as for the giraffes. I am waiting for the release, I want no I need those giraffes and if I miss out cause I'm in Australia wellllllll I will just pine away lol.
