Hello Crafters!
How are you all doing?
I wish I had a hysterical story to tell you but I don't.
I did zilch, nada, zero for the past four days.
Unless you count keeping my kid alive while I ate oreos and bbq chips on the couch. If that counts then I did things.
Nathan is still learning words and sometimes his pronunciation is a bit garbled but you know what he says with crystal clear articulation? "Cookies." this may or may not be my fault. Leave your judgment at the door. Cookies are delicious.
Today I'm sharing a card for the new Lia Stampz Challenge: Handmade Flowers.
I used the a newer image from her called Birthday Elephant.
I wanted it to look like he walked through a little field of lowers before settling his little chubby booty down to pick one up. I used several of the pinwheel image to create my flower field but isolating it from the main image and pasting them in below in Paint.
I printed them out and colored with Copics. I trimmed my panel down o allow room for the pink panel below. The die cut from Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing was cut through both the stamped panel and the pink panel. I pieced the parts of each panel back in to create the look of one piece. The rest of the sentiment was stamped in black right over top of the inlay die cut.
It's pretty simple but I think it's a sweet way to say Happy Birthday!
I hope you'll join in over at the Lia Stampz Blog. You don't need a Lia Stampz image to play along and you could win a $10 voucher to the store.
Thanks for visiting!
XoXo

This is adorable!! I cannot believe this is a digi stamp. I LOVE how you used those fun pinwheels as flowers. Stunning card!! You rock!! And no judgement here-doing Nada with four days in a row off is a good thing. You needed it after all the OT you put in last week!!
ReplyDeleteKelly, I had to take a break from blogging while dealing with some stuff. But tonight I'm taking the time to visit some of the great blogs I follow..and I was fortunate enough to see this amazing card first!! I want to go print that image off and start coloring right now..except I'm so sleepy..but maybe tomorrow? I just love this image, and you've colored him/her up so sweetly!
ReplyDeleteKelly, as though any of us could judge you. We always leave it at the door. Brilliant card, this is one cute elephant. Love how you have coloured him.

Such an adorable little scene! I love the way you pieced the die cut in there too! Now if Nathan is saying, "cookies" clearly, then you have nothing to worry about! That means he has those tough k and s sounds and he's using plurals. See, cookies are just that great!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card! Simple you say......I think not! Enjoy your weekend!
