Hello Crafters!
Normally happy Monday is an oxymoron but not this week! Why?
Because it's WPlus9 release week!!
Whoo Hooo!
There's new stamps and dies and inks! Gah they are so gorgeous. This post is super picture heavy so let's dive in shall we?
I used the new Autumn Leaves stamp set to create a fun fall card with the new inks. I used a mixture of Gala Red, Last Leaf, Hayride, and Pumpkin Spice. They are beautiful fall colors. I inked the stamp up with my lightest ink first and then added my darker color. In some cases I used the rock and roll technique too.
The inks stamp so solid. Seriously, they look like real leaves. I adore them. The sentiment from Grateful Greetings was the perfect focal point. I can see doing an entire card set of these. It's just such a classic look.
For this next card I wanted to use a bit of technique. Most of us have used alcohol inks at some point in our crafty lives. Did you know you can use Wplus9 inks just like alcohol inks? Because the inks are alcohol based they play nice with anything alcohol related (even copics!) I rubbed some ink directly onto my vellum and then dropped on some regular rubbing alcohol I had in my house. It spreads the pigment around, concentrating it in some areas and watering it down in others. It looks so cool! Dries quick too :)
I used the autumn Leaves dies to cut two leaves out of my vellum and one out of a white cardstock panel. I used the remaining vellum as an accent. I stamped another sentiment from Grateful Greetings and then popped up the whole panel on craft foam.
Last but not least you know I had to watercolor these gorgeous leaves!
I started by cutting my watercolor paper out with the largest die from the gift Card Layers die. This is exactly the same size as a an A2 size card it just adds an adorable stitch to the outside. I stamped the outline leaves in Versamark and heat set them in white.
I used my Zig Clean Color markers to add some color all over. These things run wild when you add water to them. Consequently, one wash of color tends to be very light. I wasn't very particular with where the colors went. I even let Nathan dab on some orange :)
Once the first wash was dry I went back and only rewet the areas around the leaves. I added pigment with my Peerless Watercolors this time for a much bolder look. I love how the leaves pop with the colors in the negative area. I let it dry completely again then stamped my last sentiment from Grateful Greetings. A couple same colored sequins completed the card.
Are you not in love with these stamps?
They'll be more to see all week. Best week ever right?!
