CASEing Genius: Wanda Guess

Hello Crafters!

I'm back with another Genius to share with guys! This week is pretty special because it's the One Year Anniversary of CASEing Genius! Can you believe it?! Me either!

I don't want to steal the limelight from my fabulous Genius but you may want to stop back later this week to see if there is something worth seeing. (There is. Come Back.)

This week's Genius is . . .

Wanda and I have known each other for quite awhile now but I'm still in awe of her every. single. time. Her style jumps from to elegant to super cute to shabby chic. I have no idea how she does it but I love to watch! Not only is she incredibly talented she is also an amazing person. She's kind, sweet, encouraging, and hysterical. All the things you look for in a friend. I'm so blessed she's one of mine. I feel like if we ever got together in real life there would be drinking and belly laughing. My kind of night. :) You can see all her magnificent projects on her cheeky blog, A Blog Called Wanda. Cheeky see?

Let's hear from the lady herself . . .

The Interview:

1. Who are you and where do you live?
My name is Wanda Guess and I live in a suburb of Sacramento, California with my awesome husband and the amazing Buddy the cat.

2. How would you describe your style?
That's a hard question, because I'm kind of all over the place. I like all styles! I am a 'more is more' sort of gal. I like lots of layers and lots of color.

3. Name one product you're completely crushing on right now?
Completely obsessed with my Kuretake Zig Clean Color markers right now!

4. What is was your first crafty purchase? Would you still buy it now?
I started stamping 21 years ago! My first purchase was a PSX stamp of a heart themed quilt and some embossing powder, ink and heat tool. I was hooked! I still have that first stamp, but it's not something I would buy now

Fun Stuff:

5. What is your current favorite song?
Carry On by FUN. We say them in concert not too long ago and that song gets me singing out loud!

6. Who would play you in a movie?
I would have to say Anna Kendrick because I LOVE HER! She is smart and sarcastic,  and I wish I looked like her! My husband thinks I look like Helen Hunt.

7. One random thing about you that people would never guess?
I am a huge college football fan.  Look up "The Play" on Google. I was there! That was my freshman year, and I haven't missed my annual college rivalry football game since! (34 years and counting) GO BEARS!

More is More. Ha! Perfect description :)

Eye Candy Time

I absolutely adore this color palette and the dimension is incredible. Those butterflies are literally flying of her card. The cut out diamonds are such a great accent.

How sweet is this?! Little bits of pattern keep it interesting while her gorgeous flowers steal the show. I am in love with that scripty hello.

Ack! The cuteness! This little scene is so sweet. I love how she built up her layers to give those little sweethearts some hills to climb on.

The CASE:

Wanda seems to gravitate towards blue with pops of red and yellow. I welcomed that color combination with open arms. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use butterflies on my card along with a scripty hello like Wanda used in her second card. All of Wanda's cards have texture in the background so I knew I had to include that. The woodgrain she used in her second and third cards was perfect to get that texture.

You can watch it all unfold in the video below!

I hope you enjoyed yourself!

Don't forget to head over and leave Wanda some love AND come back this week. It will be worth it I swear :)

Thanks for visiting!
XoXo
