Hello Crafters!
I'm back again with another set from the new release and it's so completely adorable you are going to die.
Well not literally.
But you'll want to because you'll know you will never see anything as cute as this ever again. Or at least not until the December release :)
This set is called Drummer Boy.
I couldn't resist making a scene with these sweet guys and I couldn't even fit in everything I wanted to!
I started by stamping out all my images using masking (of course!) in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Leaving all the images masked I used the masks I cut for yesterday's card from the Landscape Borders die to create my desert scene.
I masked the whole bottom portion of the card to create my sunset sky. I rubbed on Fossilized Amber, Ripe Persimmon, Festive Berries, Dusty Concord, and Chipped Sapphire. I added in half a circle with a topic marker for the setting sun.
I flipped the mask around to mask the sky while I added Brushed Corduroy all over the bottom panel. To create the hills/mounds/whatever you want to call them I placed the masks in specific areas and then added Ground Espresso to jus the top edges which is actually creating the shaded area of the hill above it. Tricky right? I used my Copics to add a bit of texture to the ground.
I colored all the images with Copics and then heat set the sentiment in white heat embossing AFTER the distress ink was dry. A few white gel pen stars finished it off.
I told you I couldn't stop myself from creating a scene right?
I love the story in the Bible about the birth of Jesus and how the star led them to the baby Jesus. I wanted to try to create that on this tag. I used the same steps as above to create the background except after laying down the base color I used a mask cut like a ray to mask from the star out to the road the yard walking giving the appearance of leading them :)
I colored all the images with Copic markers and added that same texture. Of course the white gel pen stars had to make an appearance. The star was white heat embossed again to really make it pop. I layered the tag from Love Shower Layers die onto of some white that I cut with the Sunshine Layers Die.
Thank you so much for visiting me today!
I hope you will head over and visit the other girls too!
