Hello Crafters!
I'm back to share some fun news. Over at Create A Smile we are leading up to the November release!
There are lots of super fun dies in this one.
I decided to use the new stamp set Winter Fun.
You know I'm in love with large scripty sentiments plus those snowflakes are just lovely.
Next, I used two of the new dies sets, Stacked Pierced Ovals and Tiny Sentiments
Finally here is my card :)
I busted out my watercolor paper (this stuff is precious right now I'm on my last sheet. eep. ) and stamped several of each snowflake that is included in the stamp set. I used waterproof inks from Hero Arts in a Neon blue, Grape Juice, and Navy. Even though these type of inks are waterproof it's still a good idea to heat set them or let them sit for a minute. They can bleed if the ink isn't completely dry and to be honest mine kind of did. Whatevs. You can't see it.
I coated the whole piece with clean water and dropped in som Gambi Tansi watercolors in the same colors. I also added in the shimmery white included in the large set. After it was dry I splattered on even more of the shimmery white. I love how using the same colors to stamp and watercolor gives the snowflakes some depth. Some look almost like a ghost outline which I think is super cool.
I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and WPLUs9's black ink. I chose to use my MISTI because I was working on watercolor paper. Good thing too because I ended up stamping it twice :) For once I thought ahead. Please don't die of shock. I outlined that bad boy in white gel pen, cause it's a thing now, and then used the largest oval die to cut it out. I used the die "wishes" to create a faux embossed look on a black strip of cardstock to complete my sentiment.
I popped up the die cut portion with some craft foam. I added some purple and silver glitter strips of paper to accent it and of course I finished it off with some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Which are back in stock at the store btw.
The girls have been rocking the inspiration all week on the blog. You can head over and check it all out here.
I'm thinking maybe we'll Periscope tonight . . .we'll see.
Thanks so much dropping by!
XoXo
