Hello Crafters!
It's been a minute since I put up a new video so I sat down the other night with the intent of making a card.
Nothing happened.
Same thing the next night and the next. . . .
The dreaded rut.
Mojoless.
Man, that sucks.
I don't know about you but I have a formula I follow when I get stuck.
First I don't put a ton of pressure on myself to create. I take a break. I read, paint my nails. Get lost on Pinterest for hours for a bit.
When I'm ready I try again by going back to the things I love.
One layer cards, rainbows, doodling, coloring etc.
So here we are with a rainbow, one layer card, featuring doodling that I colored with Copics. Added bonus it features Coffee. :)
You can watch the whole card come together in the video below but before you do I need to apologize. See when I'm in a rut I just flip through my stamps until I find something I might want to color. I pulled out this set by Mint Owl Studio which I bought less than a year ago. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere. Not sure what's going on with the company but it's just not available. I did link some similar sets below but it isn't the exact set I used. Sorry!
I'm hoping this helps to break me out of the dreaded craft rut and brings my mojo home.
Only time will tell I guess.

Here's what gets me out of a rut... a road trip with no real destination. Windows down and tunes blasting. I get my best ideas like that.

ReplyDeleteLove your bright and cheerful card! The Coffee Craze stamp set is showing sold out at mintowlstudio.com, but it appears they will re-stock it. In case anyone wants to know. The stamp set is super cute.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card, nothing beats a rainbow. Love that you talk about how it comes together and getting out of that lack of mojo. I colour when I cant get a card going so I have a million and one coloured images just in case. Can I also say being Hearing Impaired I rely on captioning to 'hear your video' and the auto caption nearly works perfectly with your voice. So often I am left wondering what was meant because of what captions come up are not necessairly what was said BUT your voice seems to register very well with the auto machine and rarely are there errors. A big bonus for people like myself.
