Be Merry: Simple Two Color Blends with Newton's Nook

Hello Crafters!

Whew I can't believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
I guess I better get on the Christmas band wagon.
I'm hoping to use my four day weekend to do just that, and craft.
Because well that makes me happy too :)

I'm was over on the Newton's Nook blog earlier this week sharing a fun Christmas card.

I actually tried something a bit different, no it's not the sky colors. I'm still infatuated with the Salty Ocean/ Blueprint Sketch/ Chipped Sapphire combo. You'll probably be seeing it all winter. Please accept my sincere apologies.

What I actually did different is the Copic coloring.
I love to use a four color blend when I'm coloring. However, I know not everyone is that comfortable with Copics or maybe you just don't have that many in your collection.
No worries, today were only using two colors to blend and guess what?
Still looks good ;)

You can watch the whole card and hear a bit about my little peanut's Thanksgiving Feast in the video below

What do you think?
Would you have noticed I didn't use all four colors if I wouldn't have pointed it out?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  1. Hi Kelly, love this card and I am so glad as a newbie that you did it in only two markers for each color, I would never know to look at it! Do you have a list of your favorite color combos anywhere? More specifically do you have a list of color combos with just two colors? Love your videos, your stores are hilarious!

  2. What a lovely card and thanks for the 2 color tutorial. I am still learning Copic. And I do love “ story time”. Happy Thanksgiving! Julie L

  3. 2 vs 4...I think it is the richness of the color, the 2 color blends are lovely but just a touch less depth. Either way your coloring is fantastic.

  4. Of course i love it. Did I NOTICE? Hahahahahaha. Yes. But. I love the (sorta) two color coloring, because I'm too stupid to use 4 colors. Yes, I'm one of the story hour / voice over addicts. Thank you.
