Wishing you a Cup of Cheer: Glow in the Dark Challenge with Michelle Lupton

Hello Crafters! 

I'm so excited for today's post! 

You know how in the very beginning of your online venture into crafts you made friends who understood your near obsession for stamping, cardmaking etc. 

One of those first friends for me is Michelle Lupton. 

She is kindhearted and funny, not to mention oh so talented. 

I'm so grateful to have her in my life.

When she emailed me and asked me to join her for her Christmas Card Challenge I jumped at the chance! 

For her Christmas Card Challenge she asks her friends/family/followers to "challenge" her to make cards with a certain theme. It's really a great way to stretch that creative comfort zone and engage with people. 

I think she's brilliant.

Our Challenge is Glow in The Dark. 

When she first told me I was like . . . .errrrr . . .. uh oh. 

It actually worked out. Christmas Miracle. 

I knew I wanted to do a scene card with these darling mugs from Sunny Studios. I used these mugs last year in my series for Simon says Stamp called What Would Kelly Make?

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to use them since! If you're interested in that video you can find it here. 

I did a ton of masking to create my honey table scene with a fun snowy window in the background. 

I had more than a few setbacks but I'm not easily deterred.  

It is a challenge after all, right guys?

I struggled with the color scheme, masking and stamping things properly, forgetting to remove masks or add them. 

Hahaha. It was a labor of love. 

You might be asking yourself what is the Glow in the Dark part right? 

Wait for it . . ..

I actually finished the video so you can watch it come together on the screen or if you're an instant gratification kind of person keep scrolling. 

Ir's pretty cool :) 

Eeep! I did not think I would be this excited about a glow in the dark card but 

It's SO cool! 

However ,it was very hard to photograph. Not surprising since the whole card was being difficult. 

This is a horrific photo but you can at least see it in it's element. 

This card is super fun. I'm so glad I have the Glow In the Dark embossing powder because I think my son will get all kinds of kicks out of it!
