Stamp Highlighting Two Ways with WPlus9

 Hello Crafters! 

I shared this card over on the WPlus9 Blog a week or so ago and wanted to share it here in case you missed it. 

You know I love florals all year round so naturally I'm loving this Christmas Rose Bouquet! 

I really wanted to make the blooms in the bouquet shine so I approached it two different ways. 

The first thing I did to set to two parts of the stamp apart was to stamp the full bouquet in a slightly lighter ink. This allows me to get a more "no line" coloring effect which is always softer. 

The next thing I did was create a monochromatic background. By doing my ink blending in the same colors as the leaves it really helps them to blend into the background. The lighter edge on the right hand side still allows enough of the leaves to show that the flowers still look grounded. 

Can't have those flowers just floating around out there now can we?!

I stamped the image a second time on white card stock but this time in black ink. I colored the flowers in bright white and bold red to really give that POP off the background colors. 

Speaking of popping, I did that too! I fussy cut out just the flowers and popped them up with foam tape so they literally POP off the page haha.

I love how just a few simple steps can give your card a WOW factor that it wouldn't otherwise have. You can do all the highlighting techniques together like I did or only do one or the other.
