Waffle Flower Books & Coffee: Pencils on Kraft

Hello Crafters!

How was your Christmas?
I hope it was amazing!

We actually had a white Christmas which was kind of awesome but now that Christmas is over the snow can pack up and leave anytime now.
I won't mind.

While it's snowing outside I've been staying in and getting some crafting done.
Really the best way to spend winter if you ask me

Back when I went shopping for my Advent post I also picked up this super cute set from Waffle Flower called Books & Coffee. I mean, I couldn't not own it. Books & Coffee are my jam.

Since I'm all about branching out I decided to dig out my colored pencils and kraft card stock.
Seriously, so grateful for this Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. It's the first one I've ever actually liked. And those bright colors look amazing on it!

I did a pretty simple one layer card and just focused on the fun of the coloring for this one. I think my favorite part is the book cover. And the title of course :)

You can hear me ramble on and watch me color this up in the video below

I really would like to know some of your favorite books. I'm always looking for something new to read!!

Thank you guys so much for dropping in!
I'll see you soon :)

  2. Books and coffee are my jam too. I love the way this card turned out. I haven't given the pencils enough of a chance but I love the way they look. As for reading one of my favorite short series books from the past couple years is the Deborah Harkness series about witches. Soooooo good if you like time travel!

  4. Such a darling card. I must try harder to embrace my colored pencils. I am a huge coffee and book fan too. One of my fav authors is Pat Conroy. ( Beach Music, Prince of Tides, South of Broad) was an excellent writer and writes about a beautiful part of country. Thanks for “storytime” always interesting. God Bless you in the New Year Kelly!

  6. I love your videos! One of my goals in 2018 is to practice using my colored pencils. My favorite book is Stephen King's "11-22-63." "It" is on my TBR list!

  9. This is so adorable Kelly. I am saving and doing my homework on which coloured pencils to buy. I have now narrowed it down to Polychromos or Chameleons...

  10. Hi Kelly. I'm late to the party here; just catching up reading my go to blogs (you are one!). Super cute card. Your colored pencil coloring is so beautiful. Love your stories. My children are grown so it brings me back in time when you talk about your son. Your blog/videos are always so inspiring, thank you. I LOVE books, too. My favorite thing is to search thrift stores and buy books for $1. I can't do the Kindle thing; gotta have the pages to turn. The best book I ever read is See Jane Die by Erica Spindler. I think she started as a romance novelist, but this book is a mystery. The best part of it...the end. It was so surprising. Everyone I have given the book to all say they thought they had it figured it out and all were wrong. Sorry for the long comment, but read the book when you want something light to read.
