Dimensional Valentine: Creating Wings with Spellbinders

 

Hello Crafters! 

It's been a rough week. 

I haven't had a day off in two weeks and then life decided to top it off with a retirement and a funeral. 

Too many good-byes thank you very much. 

I don't know about you but this is why I craft people! 

Life is heavy sometimes. 

Card making is always like breathing fresh air and feeling sunlight. 

That light sure helps make the heavy easier to carry. 

Today I have a bit of a different card for you. 

ie. it has layers. 

I know. 

I'll wait while your senses overcome the shock. :)

Seriously, is this bee not the cutest?

But honestly for me it's all about that font. 

Man, that bouncy lettering. I just adore it!

I did a quick distress oxide background before stamping my image out and copic coloring it.

I have a few tips and tricks on how to line up your sentiment with a die cut layer and of course how I made those charming little 3D wings. 

You can see the entire card from start to finish in the video below 

I turned this into a Valentine but really it could be a sweet thank you for a friend anytime of year. 

You've heard it before but I'll say it again, I'm just really feeling Valentine's day this year haha

In this photo you can really see how those wings sit and pop up off the card. 

It's such a whimsical element! I bet a kid would love this as a Valentine.
