Floral stamps, Rainbow Distress Oxides and Copic Markers (Oh my!)

 Hello Crafters! 

It was a balmy 9 degrees when I took my son to school this morning. 

I'm still freezing my tushy off. 

How about you? 

With all this cold weather outside I've definitely been feeling my floral stamps and bright colors in my craft room. 

Lord knows it's the only place I'm going to see either for quite some time. 

I'm sharing this fun and colorful card over on the Simon Says Stamp blog today that shows off both.

I've had this gorgeous Floral Bliss stamp set for quite sometime and just never had the time to play with it. I'm so glad I finally did! It's such a versatile stamp. I decided to create my focal point by stamping the floral spray twice on watercolor paper. 

I picked out a rainbow of Distress Oxides to paint my watercolor background. I used the wet on dry technique to keep the water and the warping to a minimum. Once I had down all the beautiful color I dried the background down so I could get in there with my copic markers. 

I added some shading with my Copic markers to help the stamped image pop up off the page. I used just two colors for the shading. It doesn't have to be fancy coloring. We already have all that beautiful watercoloring down to highlight the focal point. I really just wanted to add some dimension. To really ramp that up I also added a shadow to the images.

I love how bright and full the card looks. It's like a tiny slice of Spring and that makes me ridiculously happy.
