No line Watercolor: Modifying a Stamped Image

 Hello Crafters!

Well winter has returned in full force here.
It was sleet and then snow all day. The combo made trying to open my car door at work last night a super fun time.
Nothing like frozen doors to make getting home interesting.

Thank goodness once I'm home I can hole up in my craft room and pretend like 6 inches of snow is't coming down.

About a week ago I shared a sneak peek of a watercolor piece I did and it's finally here!

If you've followed me for long you'll be well aware of my love for stretching my crafty supplies. I had purchased this stamp set from Clearly Besotted back in the fall but never got around to using it.

I really loved the sunflower images but in my head sunflowers equal yellow and Autumn. Period.
No discussion.
I really wanted to use they stamp set anyway so I decided to turn them into Gerber Daisies! Which basically come in any color I want :)

I used the same controlled watercolor technique I've been loving lately. I did tweak a few things along the way but that's why practice is so important right?
I learn something every time I try.

You can watch the whole card and most of the painting in the video below.

Dropping that paintbrush was terrifying!
Thank goodness watercolors are so very forgiving!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Stay warm (or cool depending on where your at haha!)

  2. Okay my one truth today is the card would have made me poke my own eyes out. It's beautiful. It is. I think your lie is that you've never broken a bone. This is why I'm glad we don't team build where I work. I'd say I'm fat, I hate my job and I'm tired. Oh wait ...

  3. All three of your facts are true about me! So how about, my paternal grandparents were magicians, I grew up riding around in a sidecar with my maternal Grandma driving the motorcycle, and I've never owned a pet.
    Your lie - only child?

  4. Your lie is that you are an only child. Now for mine...I have been in a hurricane,I am a long haul truck driver, I don't have kids.

  7. I love this card and story time with you. My co workers did something similar to this at the
Christmas party. I think your lie is being an only child. My truths/lie....I
married my high school sweetheart, I can play 3 musical instruments and
    I have 8 tattoos.

  8. Love the card! They look like paper daisies to me which are possibly something native to Australia...? Hmmm, I think its that you have never broken a bone. As for me, I hate sleeping in, I'm Australian and I spend way too much time watching other people make cards and don't make enough of my own...

  9. Your card is Gorgeous. Thanks for the video on how you created it.
Your lie is that you are an only child.
I collected forensic evidence, I make 10 cards a week, and I walk 3 miles every day.

  10. I never tire of looking at you colour. The result is lovely. I believe that your lie is that you are an only child. My three statements about myself are: I eat my toenails, as a child I fell into the alligator enclosure at the zoo and I'm 41 and have never worn lipstick or makeup.

  13. Hi again, forgot to ask, if you get compensated like everyone usually does when we hit on the links to buy something, what happens IF the item is "out of stock" and you don't end up ordering it until it comes back in stock? Does SSS for example keep track of that and know that when you finally get to order? Thanks.

  17. Such a lovely card! You have way more patience than I do. No idea what your lie is but I would say by listening to the video that you had no problem graduating. My 3: people say I look younger than my years, I hate chocolate, and I have two beautiful grandchildren and four children.
