Faking the look of Die Cuts: Happy Birthday Scene with Birthday Friends

Hello Crafters! 

Well it's the end of Monday and I already wish it was Friday.

Just Friday, not Saturday, I have to work on Saturday.   

This week is a crazy busy one for me. 

Week's like this I try to remember to be grateful. 

I have 3 jobs I love and I'm healthy enough to work. 

I blessed with an abundance of opportunities to contribute to the world around me. 

One day this week I will have the ability to breath and read a book or have lunch with a friend. 

That day is Friday. 

Come on Friday, haha. 

In the meantime I will de-stress with crafts because sometimes doing what you love is more important than sleep.   With that I have another Simon Says Stamp sponsored Video for you guys tonight. 

I totally fell in love with these amazing Birthday sets from Pretty Pink Posh. 

First of all the Birthday Scene set is enough to carry a card all alone. I love stamps you can stamp once, color quickly, and move on. Hello, extremely cute and quick mass production! 

However, I can't leave anything alone an had to add in those adorable party goers from Birthday Friends.

I did a super simple watercolor background using Distress Oxides. I did the usual spattering of water droplets and Perfect Pearls before diving into the Copic coloring. 

Once it was colored I really wanted the look of die cuts to set it apart from the background but I didn't own these particular dies. So, I faked it. 

You can see how in the video below as well as hear all about my grocery store escapades. Yes, I said escapades. There's also a surprise gift at the very end. Feel free to skip that part if it's not for you :) 

He did a great job painting but he really did spill an entire container of water off screen. While you watch him blissfully painting away I'm sopping up water off my desk and soaking it up from my carpet.  

Ahh well, his Nana loved the card.
