I decided to play with the new Making Magic set and do a little stage scene. I feel like it's been a minute since I did a scene card and think this one came out super cute. P.s. It's only been a week and a half since I did a scene card. I just have problems. haha.
I really wanted to create an interesting back drop for my charming magician and his beautiful assistant. I used my Distress Oxides to create some rainbow lights in the background.
I picture it as the "Tada" moment in the routine where the lights change all dramatic and confetti flies threw the air lol.
I stamped my characters on a separate piece of cardstock so I could cut them out with coordinating dies. I added them into the scene with foam tape to give them a bit more dimension.
You can see the whole card boo-boos and all in the video below. Yes, there are boo-boos, did you notice? :)
I actually don't think it's noticeable at all. You tell me :)
I probably wouldn't have added those stars otherwise but they do work nicely to break up the nights in the background.

I want to see what color combinations you use. I don't have Copic markers but I do have Spectrum Noir & Artist Loft.

ReplyDeleteLove the stage and the lights not to mention how you grounded each light with the matching COPIC color. You are so funny and I love the compromise you and hubby made about your hair! I went totally natural which now is gray and brown so I could spend the money on stamp supplies - go figure where my priorities are!

ReplyDeleteIt's awesome, or to stay in the words of the card, magical. I love it! Love the way you did your background and used the images. Great solution for dropping your bloc, althoug if you didn't know it, you wouldn't see it. And your story is as always great, luckily it wasn't as bad as with a friend of mine. She was a hairdresser and on one evening she did here hair, she is also not as blond as she wishes so she makes it blond. Whe still don't know a few years later what went wrong but she was.....green! Froggreen! So remember it can always be worse. Thanks for today and have a nice weekend.

I didn't notice the mistake but when you wrote about it and I looked for one, I thought maybe you were unhappy with the placement of stars near the magician cause it *kinda* looks like he farted ;-) But you'd have to have the humor of a teenage boy (or his mother, in my case) to see it!!! Was with a friend when she got a color gone bad... looked like Ronald McDonald red... was going for blond hilights. Another friend had a horror story that started with her trying to get balayage, ending up with purple hair, and needing a 2 day process (and 2 bottles of wine) to fix it! I say a little prayer every time my hair comes out normal. :-)

DeleteYour card is so cute and brilliant idea of the lights in the background.. I gasped quite loud when you dropped your block. My hubby said are you ok??? I said yes just watching a video and seeing a nightmare.. But you saved it. I had a glob of copic leak out today as I was creating.. well a strip of the sentiment went over that area.. Hay got to ask.. you always outline your work. Have you thought of just playing the pieces you colored back in the misty and re-stamping the images before you cut them out?? I thought of that when you didn't want to outline the hoop. Love your work.. glad you hair turned out for you.

ReplyDeleteIn your hair story I had to laugh, by about your iOS with blond, but a similar story of mine. Like you my hair is dyed, every colour over the years, but it was very very long, past my bum long, and red, my at time fella loved it but one day I had teased that I was going blond, he actually said the words you dare ! Now to be that's an invite so not only did I come home very blond but also crop short, instant relationship ender. If I had known that's all I had to do I'd have been blond a week after we meet lol x
