Alright card time!
I decided to go with a one layer card featuring the Florals Rose Stamp & Cut. I stamped the large rose down in the bottom right and corner and the top left. I wanted a fun bold sentiment so I decided to combine the script in the same set with the Luggage Tag Alphabet.
I added my shading to the flowers with a couple of different copic markers. I knew I wanted the roses to be multi colored. One of the easiest ways I have found to do that is to do my base shadows in gray markers. After those were in I just added the colors I wanted over the top.
I wanted the florals to have some green around them so I added in a halo of green to give the impression of leaves. I actually struggled quite a bit with this background so I decided to do some very lazy general masking and add a bit of distress oxide in the background. I added some flicks of water and perfect pearls to break up the background.
I added a drop shadow to the hello and the outline both parts of the sentiment in white to help them pop up away from the background. Even though it was a bit of a struggle I think the water splatters give it an almost water like appearance. It's almost as if the blooms were floating which honestly I think is kind of cool. What do you think?
I was running late today (no big shock there) and just now finished the video. If it's grayed out when you're here come back in 20 minutes.
It's still processing but I literally can't stay awake any longer.
Professional: Questionable Real Life: Definitely
Enjoy!
The next stop on the hop is another wonderful friend of mine Lydia Fielder. You're going to love it! and her if you're not familiar :)
Thanks so much for joining me!

Kelly, I was just watching your haul vid on youtube that included the Tonic Brush set. Because I know you often use the Silver Black Velvet line, I'm really curious to know how the Tonic brushes compare. Watching you and some of my other fav youtube crafters I notice that the Silver line seems to hold a fine point really well. I'm wondering if the Tonic brushes do the same. As always, thank you for the inspriation.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. Enjoyed your story also. We all have bad days that we laugh about later!
ReplyDeleteThis card is exquisite, Kelly. The coloring and added touches are so lovely. Thanks for sharing your card and thoroughly entertaining/oh-so-helpful video tutorial as part of this blog hop.
