Hello Crafters!
I hope you survived your Monday!
I did but barely.
It is was a day.
Thankfully I have a wonderful hobby that is filled with super encouraging people and you know that actually helps so much.
Speaking of wonderful craft people I was excited when Christine from Paper Nest reached out to me with these adorable stamps. There are five hippos in the set and I couldn't exclude a single one of them.
I kept the layout super simple on this one and just concentrated on the coloring. The packaging showed these cuties colored up in sweet pastels and I really loved it.
I know it can be a struggle to get a good dimension while keeping your colors soft so I decided to concentrate on today.
You can watch the entire card come together in the video below
I really think adding the heat embossed sentiment on black helped bring the whole design together. The sentiment being stamped down flat on the paper just didn't have the same impact. I do want to add that in the video I said Spectrum Noir are not refillable. When they first came out, which is when I tried them, they weren't refillable. They are in fact refillable.
Thanks so much for stopping by guys!
I'll be back soon with another card!
Hi Kelly
ReplyDeleteI think what is around the hippos neck may be a bandana. My sister in law also can't say idea but says ideal (I think)
Your coloring is to die for. Tried to find out where to buy the hippos but could not find the stamps on their site. Are they out yet?
Hello Linda
DeleteDid you find them? They are in my shop now. I wanted to let you know I'm offering a special for Kelly's customers, since I feel bad about them not being available right away.

They are so cute and I love the colours you chose to do them in. Thank you for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute. I love the way you colored them. They are so cute. I too have issues with saying words. my biggest one is "simultaneously" .. trying to tell my phone so I could get the correct spelling took a long time.. LOL. another is "jurisdiction" when I worked for the state before I retired we had to tell callers it's not in our jurisdiction and I just couldn't say the word the way it sounded. I am glad it wasn't something we had to do a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet images, you did a fantastic job keeping the colours soft, love that!
ReplyDeleteLinda I have the same question. I can’t find them anywhere. Help!!!
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteThey are on my site and they are on SALE! I feel bad there was such an issue with them, so they are only $10 now, and the coordinating sentiments are my FREE gift to you :)
Hi. I have tried many times to get on your site to order these. I can’t get anythi to come up to look at your stamps. Is there a trick I’m missing??? Thank you.
DeleteAbsolute adorable Kelly, so very sweet those Hippos. I can't think of a word that I can not pronounce at this moment, but there is one for sure. I think everyone has. Thank again for a great card.
ReplyDeleteI love your card. You've opened up the gateway to so many different stamp brands and images and just seeing them being coloured makes me love them all :)
ReplyDeleteAs always, you create another beauty!! Thank you for your inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteSo yummy scrummy little hippos, liking the pastel pallet very much. On the subject of words, you are not alone; I can not says synthesizer or xylophone. But I also have, as part of my symptoms, times when words just won't come out and the family all get to play, Guess the word !
