It's either feast or famine around here I tell ya haha.
I'm currently typing this blog post with foil wrapped nails because those dip nails had to go.
I'm sharing this card over on the Honey Bee Stamps Blog today.
I originally had a different background in mind for this one but ultimately I returned back to my clean and simple roots. I stamped the flowers out in Copic safe ink and got started coloring.
When I finished coloring and I moved on to the die cutting portion of the card I was careful to make sure the top cutting plate didn't cover the bottom portion of the die this way when I run it through it won't cut the bottom and I can use a pen to extend to the stems to fit my design.
After I extended the stems I trimmed out the stems by hand. For the background I did a super simple distress oxide background with clean water spatters and a few gold Perfect Pearl splatters for some shine.

Wait. Am I the first to comment!?! Yay. I love your videos, especially story time, but I also appreciate your showing any mistakes that you make, or in the case of this card, changing the background from what you had planned. My cards never turn out as I envision them so I always have to improvise. Honestly, I probably just need to practice by making more cards. 😁

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Kelly and love to here your story, the groceries where realy for a girls weekend LOL! I had fun when I saw your mail comming in and saw the sentiment on your card. My grown up daughter came just before your post in to my craft room after I asked her if she could help me for a moment and asked me "what up buttercup?". Whe had a big laugh together when whe saw your post with the buttercup sentiment because English is not our native language!
