I went straight fall color palette. How could I not. But I still kept it a little bright because well it's me and I need bright colors in my life :)
I masked off my "counter" and used several colors of distress oxides to create my wallpaper. I then used the new Patterned Lanterns background stamp to give it more interest. I used a super simple brown combination to create the counter.
I stamped out my branches and vases and colored them in with my copic markers. I love how it all goes but still has enough contrast to stand out :) I'm really feeling the faux glitter technique lately and couldn't resist applying it these vases.
I used the oval die from the main kit to die cut my background then popped it up with foam tape on my cardbase. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the stamps and branches then adhered them down flat. The simple heat embossed sentiment finished it off.
If you have the time you can stop for a super quick chat and check out the card from beginning to end in the video below
Thank you so much for joining me.
The next stop on the hop is my dear friend Jennifer McGuire. I know you'll be in awe of what she makes! I always am :)
If you get lost along the way here's the entire hop.
See you soon :)

ReplyDeleteChrome nails huh, you nailed it. Everything else in your life may be crazy, but your nails alway rock!!! Hit me up on the side lines if you want some tips, I did nails and hair since Jesus was born😁 Try doing just as you did, but do an obnoxious hot pink with a blue iridescent tone or neon pink instead of the black.... you will get the prettiest soft "rose gold"....even using the silver chrome powder! And we know your into the gold thing these days 😁
ReplyDeleteOh Kelly, I just love when I get to your blog and you are sharing experiences of your day....what a kick....Loved your story....By the way....Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Such fun....Memories.....Hey....that video was awesome....I was wondering how you got those vases to sparkle like they did.....so glad I saw how you did it....sure made them stand out....Loved your card....Have an awesome day...big hugs

ReplyDeleteOh Kelly...Your card is very beautiful and so fitting for you, because YOU are such a VIBRANT example to us! I don’t know you but I got this feeling that you exemplify every bit of the meaning of the word “vibrant”! Congrats to your peanut on losing his first tooth!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours on this card Kelly, and how the wallpaper background is very striking. Once again your stories kept me entertained while you coloured. I always told my children that the fairies took the teeth to make their furniture when they asked and I'd leave a mini thank you note from the fairy with the £1 coin. Thanks for the inspirtion once again and belated happy birthday greeting, Jeanette (in the UK)
ReplyDeleteLove your card and your story! We have ALL had those days! Can’t wait to get my kit!
ReplyDeleteWhat an ideal gorgeous background to show off the wonderful Chinese Lanterns!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards, videos & stories. Here's a brilliant suggestion for the tooth fairy! My third youngest son and his wife have a six year old and my youngest son and his wife have five-year old twins. Children have 20 primary teeth and they both have gathered 20 & 40 gold dollar coins and stashed them for those 20 teeth! If they travel, they pop one (or two) in their bags and they will always be prepared! I used to give my kids 50 cent pieces but inflation brings it up to $1/tooth!! I just love the idea of being prepared for all those teeth and not having to scramble on a holiday, in the middle of the night, etc.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful Kelly, the background is so pretty with those vases. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteFunny tooth fairy story: We have 2 children and when our son (the youngest) lost HIS first tooth it was as he was on his way to catch the bus. That particular morning my husband was getting them out the door and running late. With all of my sons excitement about his tooth coming out they were running later and my husband was beginning to panic. SO... instead of Dad saying "we'll deal with it tonight" INSTEAD, he quickly rifled through his pocket, gave our son a 'Loonie' (a Canadian dollar coin) and said "here, there's no such thing as a tooth fairy!" LOL YUP! True story! And if that wasn't bad enough, my son promptly shared that info at the bus stop with his little friend who was a year younger! (Oh the joys of being a parent, HUH? LOL)
Gorgeous card. Love how you colored the vases.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! The background is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning! So colorful and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI like. I would also like to know why we do not choose to break the being late habit? It annoys me...I do not enjoy being late but I do it with such panache!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card. Congrats to Peanut on getting acquainted with the Tooth Fairy! Nancy Arnold
