Hello Crafters!
It's late on a Friday night.
So of course I have a card.
haha.
It just seems to be my go to time to get something published.
I genuinely just wanted to play around and color. No layout. No rules. No big to do. Just enjoy coloring. So that's what I did. :)
Whenever I feel that way I immediately bust out a set of Suzy's paintables from Simon Says Stamp. She has been doing them for so long there's everything from flowers to Christmas and they are perfect for just sitting down to color. I went straight for the flowers tonight since they are my favorite.
I decide to play around with layering my copic markers over Altenew's new Watercolor Brush Markers to see how they worked together. I started by laying down some color from the marker and then laying down some clean water. I bring the water to the color and then let it spread out from there.
Using one color at a time worked great. I did run into some trouble when I tried to go back into my flower and add some color variation. I struggled to get the original line to move and ended up adding the shading by scribbling the marker on an acrylic block, picking it up with my paintbrush and dropping it in. I'm not sure if that's the paper or the markers, or the paper combined with the markers.

Loved the card and the story lol. How about a Pest Control Sponsor to the rescue of the beautiful damsel and Peanut being plaques by these monsters/spiders. You can't be the only women in this situation that would love to contact the "hero" that rescued you and peanut from the plight of the Spider Invation!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in California desert, I've sent you some pics of what we deal with😳🐶🐍🐜🦗🕷🕸🦂😱. If that doesn't work Google Home Defense, it's a gallon spray with a wand there are YouTube videos that show you how to spray the perimeters...I do it once a month, indoors outdoors, safe for pets and peanuts too, just keep them away until its dry.

I don't know if I would like a review or sponsor video perhaps when it is card craft related but definitely not from things that are not card craft related.
On the other hand, it's your channel, your videos and when there is something coming on your path that it is worth showing then you do it if you want it.

Kelly, your flower is just so beautiful. I love your videos and love to hear your stories. I have this fly, spider zapper that I use for getting the spiders. It is shaped like a tennis racket and zaps them. Depending on how big they are it might take a couple of zaps. But at least they die right away. I got mine at Walmart, But you can get them at Amazon. Electric Fly Swatter, Mini Bug Zapper Battery Powered. I hate squishing them with my foot. Anyway, good luck with the spiders.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you did. The orangish background and purple flower is stunning. I use Essential oils to control the spiders but they are mostly in the window area. I am sorry you have so many. Are there plants/bushes up close to the house that would cause this. I hope it gets solved. As far as you testing products and sharing I would love it cause I would trust you on if it was something I would want or not. I guess it's up to us if we would buy it some will and some wont but I trust your thoughts on it. I hope you post photos of your Halloween outfit along with your little one. Thanks so much for your videos. Wish I was at one of our classes. I would love to meet you.. Hugs

ReplyDeleteRight long video gets long comment sorry. Let's start at card, wonderful that you did the purples & pink, it looked very natural & beautiful, thank you. Question, what is a good paper for zigs ? Right now the rest, great idea on the promoting kindness, like you say it costs nothing but I'm surrounded by mean spirited, miserable people so at times I think it costs a fortune to smile let alone be kind.! Promotions etc, I love you are honest to the point of you won't be rude but ! So to me that r a company wants to sponsor you then go girl money as a single mum doesn't flow like a stream so benefit where you can. To me as far as review, be honest, be fair but I'm not rushing out to buy a product just because Kelly says. If I'm interested from your review then I would go check it out further myself, thank you for doing tons of leg work but you know i have my own mind, like all your fillowers. So as long as it works for you my dear then go with your food honest heart.
ReplyDeleteSpiders, I am all for protecting & promoting life in most creatures but when it comes to spiders, if you don't want to die then leave me & my house, car, bags etc alone. You have all that outside, go live in it. Sorry to pro spider folks but then things terrifie me like nothing else.

I usually would have gone with blue also, thanks for showing us an alternative and helping us to think outside the box.
