Hello Crafters!
Welcome to the Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers Blog Hop!
Seriously, these markers are so fun.
You should have arrived from the amazing May Sukyong Park's
blog. I'll wait while you pick your jaw up off the ground. She's amazing right?!
If you're just stopping by you'll want to start at the beginning with the Altenew Card Blog Because.....
Altenew is giving away a $40 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, October 10th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 10/12/2018.
Let's get into this card shall we?
So in the set you get 10 markers which are a rainbow of colors. They match the Altenew inks which is amazing because you know those colors are beautiful. They are super vibrant and pretty user friendly.
I stamped my flowers and first tried the markers with water. I stamped my flowers and leaves on watercolor paper then I scribbled down the two blues and the purple around the flowers. I added water with a paintbrush and they blended out super easy.
Then I went back in and tried to add more shading...
Guys this is such a big deal.
Wait for it.
I could add more color from the brush while it was wet.
WHILE IT WAS WET!
I own both the Arteza markers and the Zig Clean Colors and neither one of them let you go back in while it's wet. I always have to scribble on an acrylic block and add it in with a paintbrush. These worked awesome!! Once my background was dry I did spatter on some water to see how the color picked up. It wasn't a sharp contrast but you could definitely see the "bleach" spots.
Next I used the pens to blend with each other on my flowers. No water added. You know I have to try all the things :)
It was really easy to blend them together even straight from the marker. I did have to go over the yellow/orange at least twice but after that they blended really nicely. A few white dots finished the flowers off. I love how vibrant the colors are!
