There were so many things I loved from this release but I'm a sucker for cute cupcakes. The adorable animals holding them didn't hurt either.
I inked up to card panels with a rainbow of distress inks before splattering them with both clean water and some shimmer spray. Once they were dry I trimmed one of them down to a frame.
I stamped all the cuties and then colored them up with my copics before fussy cutting them out.
I used a waterbased black marker to go around the edges to give a cleaner look.
I stamped my sentiment down and then filled my shaker with a few different kinds of Pretty Pink Posh sequins and gems. I think these guys are definitely ready to party?

The rainbow blend is beautiful, but what I really love are the sparkling whipped frosting tops of the cupcakes that really make the animals stand out. You have made really beautiful and smart color choices, and it looks terrific!

Craftstash are really good. And ate one of the few places over here you can get done American brands from. They have great prices and offers too. The card is fabulous
ReplyDeleteKelly, I wanted to leave a comment regarding CraftStash, however as my Youtube account is set up so that my three year old can watch videos we can’t comment on there…..otherwise he would comment on everything he watches and as he can’t spell yet it would simply be a collection of random letters and emoji’s (yep he figured out how to get those on my tablet, but he was also the first one of the family to figure out how to do split screen and how to get Youtube to broadcast on the television so even at three years old emoji’s was easy).
ReplyDeleteI have used Craftstash they seem to be a reasonable company, they are closely linked with a number of craft magazines in the UK and do provide some really nice stamp sets and lot of the inks that I have seen on your channel. The one thing I would say is that they do not often get the new releases from the American companies that they stock or it can take a couple of months for them to actually get the sets.
There are a number of other UK based companies that I use who specialize in American crafting firms – there is one that actually got the Multi Glue you use and I got really excited that I could finally try it. So there are a number of options should you want to look at the UK for a team. For myself it would be great to see someone that I admire mention a company that I can purchase from because I know that you wouldn’t put your name to a company that you were unsure of.
I also wanted to say a quick thank you to you for your blog and your Youtube channel. I started crafting after I had my son as I needed something that was mine, something that I could say I did. Do not get me wrong being a mother is the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life and something that I would never change, but in doing that I became “spuds mummy” and I needed something that would allow me to connect to who I was before (which I think is important for me and my Son) and also to connect to who I had become when I wasn’t just “mummy”. I found your videos when I was looking for help with starting again and I have followed every video since. Firstly because I love the way that you teach I have learnt a lot from not only the way that you put a card together but also how you explain the techniques you use – which by the way is clear and concise and informative. And secondly because you make me smile and laugh, for the twenty minutes or so that I put in the headphones and watch the video I can listen to someone being real and understanding and funny. And on the days where everything seems to go wrong, where Spud is acting up or he floods the bathroom (again) or I don’t talk to anyone who doesn’t talk about themselves without using their first name all the time your videos pick me up and remind me that I am not on my own doing this, there are mummy’s all over the world going through the same thing and I really should smile more because at the end of the day I am doing better than I think. So thank you, keep doing what you do for as long as you can it really is appreciated. Ziggs (Spuds Mummy and Crafter)
Kelly, I love the card first of all and I hope to one day to be able to copic color like you do! I show up for the coloring but mostly for story time! I love your heart also - you stand up for friends, good and positivity and that keeps me coming back. I'm across the river -Northern Ky. and hope our paths cross someday. Keep up girl - you rock!

I enjoyed watching you color it, and while I was sorry to hear about the ugly-comment person, I loved hearing about the people who uplifted one of your followers with their comments. I need to hear stories like that bc the older I get, the more all of the negativity in the world and just the stress of life really beats me down sometimes. I enjoy the times when I get to visit your blog & watch a video—it's a fun, creative break in my day. Thanks for making the time to share your talent with us. And I'm putting my mom hat on right now to say that with all you're doing, make sure you take care of you and get enough sleep! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, just wanted to commend you for your discussion on comments. I had a similar situation the other day where I neede to access customer support chat to get my password reset. After what seemed to me like a normal chat session, the customer support person thanked me for being so nice and said I was the only person that day who had shown her any kindness. I was blown away. How hard is it to realize there is a human being on the other side of the words we type into our computers? Just saying "thank you" and "please" is so simple and is what most of us were taught. Anyhoo (as you like to say) have a great day and keep up the good fight!

I don't feel you're pushing products. I have enough that I can feel I can use another image and make a card like yours without having to purchase more products. I love your kind heart and I feel your sincere when you speak about life. We've all had things said to us that will be with us forever..
